If you were to book a hunt in Louisiana to specifically target Canadians where would you go ?

1. Canada Geese
2. The giant Canada Geese are mostly resident flocks don’t know if anyone wild ones They have some scattered around the state but don’t know if anyone that targets them
The smaller cackling geese come around occasionally
Go west and north to Texas, Kansas, etc

I've heard/read that they migratory Canadas used to come through Louisiana in numbers worth targeting back in the 50's and 60's. Crazy how they can bounce back in some flyways in huge numbers but not in others.

Pretty much any BREC park. Get there early before the old guys tee off.

My neighborhood. I could have ran over 15 of them this morning on the way to work.

There is a camp of people who attribute that to northern states manipulating their migration

While that is definitely a factor, you can’t neglect to mention how much we have changed agricultural practices in Louisiana too.
How much rice production has shifted to sugar cane?

O'Neal lane at the lake by Ochsner Hospital. Evening will be your best chance as they are often at he Lake in Wedgewood feeding in the am.
Good luck. Kill every damn one of them.

The crazy part is it only affected the giant Canadas and not the ducks back then
Maybe different size holes in the nets where ducks could get through but not the Canadas

It's Canada Geese, and Louisiana doesn't have a robust wild population of these birds; they're all feral from domestic stock that were introduced into ponds and local lakes over the last 50 years. I'm sure you could whack a few at Woman's Hospital on Airline Highway, just be gone before the cops get there.
