They should have pulled Costanza after 4 but they continued to trot him out there to give up more hits and runs.

Cristian Javier, who is nearly 14 months removed from Tommy John surgery, gave up one run in 2? innings for the Triple-A Sugar Land Space Cowboys on Thursday night in El Paso in his third rehab appearance this month. Javier, who got his fastball up to 95 mph, threw 49 pitches, 30 for strikes.

which means he should be lights out against the AAAMLB

Yesterday was a throw away game. How else do you explain that lineup?
No one was hitting that reliever for the A's cranking out pitches up to 104 mph.

The real question is can we keep the streak alive?

Gusto seems like a perfect candidate to get us behind early. Kurtz could do it before we touch a bat

And our hottest hitter of late, Trammell, has to face a lefty. Our normal RH heavy lineup would seem to have an advantage vs LHP, but we don’t and never have had a normal lineup

On that note, can you imagine being in the opposing team’s staff meeting for pitching to our lineup with Paredes, Yed, Pena, and Meyers not in it?

Better not be late for the meeting or you will miss it. LOL

In a year where the offense has been derailed by injuries, apparently half of Astros twitter thinks the solution to fix it is trading for Carlos Correa.

Nothing against Carlito but what would even be the plan here once Pena returns? 3rd base? And does that just confirm Esock’s season is done?

I saw somewhere that since the beginning of 2023, Dubon has a higher WAR than Correa. I could hardly believe it, but it appears to be true. 5.5 vs. 5.1.

I still like Correa, but letting him go was the right thing to do.

Let us all let that sink in for a moment. And I am not hating on the guy, but add this to the list of phrases that you would have thought would mean we are 44-64 instead of 5 games up.

Convince me otherwise, but EVERY Astros free agent signing elsewhere was the right move

Throw Bregman and Tucker in there

Tucker is the only one with more production than his replacement, but look at the control with the returning starters, one of which more than replaced Bregman

It’s why I knew Framber was gone and immediately entertained the thought of getting a return for him. But the team’s performance thus far, even with all the injuries, puts us in an almost all-in position

Look at the Cubs. Their window might be smaller than ours. They have to consider giving up top prospects again for Suarez with Tucker leaving. All in for them for sure

In a vacuum, would i like to have Correa in a playoff setting? Hell yeah. He'd bring life and leadership and hes delivered in big post season moments.

But you cant count on him to stay healthy and hes still owed 90+ million.

Where does he play next year? Second base? It doesn’t make a ton of sense

Mental masturbation

Essentially what I was doing early on about dealing Framber if or projected record had played out at that time

Correa might return to retire one day at a bargain. If he can play that long. Doubtful

One of the guys rumored to be on the Astros radar is off the board. Yankees just traded for Ryan McMahon.
