New info on John Brennan’s single “source”…..source had no direct knowledge

Brennan's informant is believed to be Oleg Smolenkov, who previously worked in the Russian Embassy in Washington and later as a government foreign policy adviser in Moscow, before moving back to the D.C. area in early 2017.
Brennan said his source could not be revealed because Putin might have him executed. However, reporters easily found Smolenkov living in a six-bedroom home in Stafford, Va., listed in his and his wife's real names.
It's not known if Smolenkov was paid for his information. The CIA and FBI declined to comment.
The highly classified version of the ICA did not fully identify Smolenkov, referring to him in "abbreviated" form. It described him as "an established source" but with only "secondhand access" to Kremlin information. That is, he was only repeating what an unnamed source had told him.
Then, in describing the "raw intelligence" he provided, the ICA conceded that it had no insight into Smolenkov's own source: "The exact circumstances in which the subsource obtained the information on Putin's plans were not explicitly clear."

Explaining why NSA dissented from the key Putin conclusion, former NSA Director Adm. Mike Rogers argued the human source it was based on "did not have direct access" to insider information about Putin. Also, he added, "I didn't see multiple sources."
Foreign press outlets have noted that Smolenkov "would not have direct access to secret information at either the Russian Embassy in the U.S. or while working for the presidential administration in Moscow."
Yet Smolenkov was also Brennan's source for the ICA claim that Putin ordered allegedly hacked DNC material to be leaked to WikiLeaks.
"The established source with secondhand access provided us our only specific information on Putin's order to pass collected material to WikiLeaks," the highly classified version of the ICA stated.
He was also the source for "the reported role of the [Russian] Federal Security Service (FSB) hacking operations related to the U.S. election," the classified ICA said.

Why did Brennan pimp our country out to the Russians?
He’s going to have some trouble defending this one

Brennan better double up on his "lawyering up" action.
I understand the lawyers for the Idaho murderer are now available - they are good at crafting "guilty" pleas to avoid death penalty.
Brennan may need that expertise.

Isn't Roger's the guy who alerted Trump to the bugs in Trump Tower?

This guy is a SFP fella.

Bare minimum Brennan and Clapper die in prison.

What's infuriating, is that the next Democrat president will pardon them on day 1. For those that end up in the slammer

Rodgers went to Trump tower behind everyone's back to let their campaign know they were being spied on
The campaign moved out the very next day

What I don’t understand is how the director of national intelligence can go on TV and explain her report that she has given to the DOJ and these men are still walking free. I understand that the DOJ needs some time but if these were republicans being blamed for it a year ago the Biden DOJ would have them already arraigned.

I would assume it’s that Trump is conducting himself in accordance with his prior denouncements of those same improprieties that were perpetrated against him, and going about it via appropriate means and avenues. I.e. avoiding hypocrisy and “practicing what he preached.”

They've gotta get the venue out of DC or they blow their one chance. America's one chance.

He began with the conclusion he wanted and found/fabricated the information to corroborate it. It was very much like Dick Cheney did to get us into war with Iraq.

Yes. He went unannounced, and without the Obama Admin knowledge. Told them the entire joint was bugged and that they were being listened to.
Mike Rogers was no Trump fan boy. He said he did it strictly because it was the right thing to do.
Mike Rogers and Devin Nunes were two pivitoal people who exposed illegal corruption by their own Government.

Yes, Mike Rogers is the one who alerted Trump. He is also the one who went to the FISA court regarding the FBI and others making 1,000s of "ask queries" on NSA databases.....including hired contractors with no supervision.
One of the culprits, good ole samantha power who went on to run USAID.
Obama then changed security protocol and said every department should be their own gatekeeper to get around NSA guarding their own system.
No telling how much dirt was gleaned, personal stuff, from senators, judges, ex lovers, etc. Probably companies like Fusion GPS pulling dirt on republicans, as they were directed.....then, on the side, pulling up dirt on the dems for future use.
Shortly after this the double hop FISA warrant was issued...RETROACTIVELY, to cover the fact they had been spying on Trump illegally.

probably so, but the damage will be done. Now, I get it, there are loons out there that would still deny any of this and will always support free checks over country.

All the money we spend on the CIA and the best "informant" they have is a guy who cleaned toilets at the Russian embassy? This is the pivotal person on which the future of the US was based?
This really is stranger than fiction. Some arses better go to prison for this.
