I still think we can get Underwood in the transfer portal if it goes as I think this year

Michigan brought in some scrub QB from portal Mikey Keene, ranked 92nd in FBS in QBR. I imagine by game 4 or so, Underwood will be the starter. I feel he'll end up with that team and that coach with a 60% completion rate or under, under 200 yards a game, a 3:2 TD to INT ratio or worse, with a bottom half in QBR of FBS.

When he realizes that Michigan doesn't have the WR talent, offensive playbook, or offensive coach, who stands the best position to gain his transfer? He was committed to us until the last minute 1,200 miles away that Blue Blood Michigan had to pay $4-5 million more despite being 12 minutes away to get him to change his mind, and a school that has an expected 3 consecutive top 5 picks at QB and will have Nic Anderson, likely Tristen Keys, etc. From what I understand, Michigan offered $1 mil more per year than LSU. He'll be done with year 1, and 2 remaining years, so if he transferred to LSU, and LSU offer same rate, he'd forgo $2 million. However, the difference between a 6th round pick and top 5 pick is $55,000,000. $55 mil >>>> $2 mil.

It took a blue blood 12 minutes from him to have to offer $4-5 million more to decommit from a school 1,200 miles away that he was dead set on.

He already is home, so any other major program would not be home. We have seen this several times before. A player that had either committed to LSU, or LSU was a very strong contender, like an Aaron Anderson, spend 1 year then go back to LSU because unhappy with stats.

Ship has sailed buddy. I will never drag a kid for making a decision but I will say there are better ways of going about things. He has helped us in the NIL department

Essentially what you are saying is that he will stay put at Michigan despite maybe having horrible stats and a bleak future. Because there really isn't a case to name any school over LSU as a transfer destination. Return home? He's already home. Any other major program would be not home.

Most overall #1 QBs would transfer if they willingly joined a bad passing program and did poor year 1. Not all, but most. Then who would he transfer to? Ohio St with Sayin? Notre Dame despite he showed no interest? The best case you can make is LSU as he was an early commit and was with us all the way until last day or so.

It took a blue blood program 12 minutes from him to have to offer $4-5 million more to decommit from a school 1,200 miles away. One can not make a more solid case than LSU to lead after a simple statement like that.

Doubt it. Where's he going to transfer if he does poorly like 3 QBs did last year for Michigan? You can't make a case for any school to lead that list than LSU. Goes back to my "It took a blue blood program 12 minutes away having to offer $4-5 million more to get him to decommit from a school 1,200 miles away."

There are a lot of salty fans which makes them pessimistic about this, which I get, but use logic. Don't use emotions. Relying on emotions fails far too often. The logical choice based on Underwood's past actions is obviously LSU. Past actions are the best predictor of future actions. Have an uncle that has been a drunk for 32 years? Do you think he'll be sober tomorrow? No. Why? Past actions are always the best indicator of future actions. And what were Underwood's past actions? Committing to LSU.

I heard on Off the Bench interviewing Mike Scarborough that he thinks LSU's starting 2026 QB is not on the roster, and we will get a transfer. I agree with him.

zero chance underwood enters the portal, regardless of how he plays.

The fact that he took a bigger bag and went to Mich was a blessing in disguise. It enabled LSU spend more money in the spring portal and shore up some DL ,S and OL issues.Underwood did us a favor. He made a great money decision and a bad developement choice.

And responded multiple times. He might transfer but it wont be to LSU.
We will land a talented kid or 2 in the next few cycles as well.

Underwood will go down as the catalyst for getting LSU’s NIL shite together. We’ll see how the season plays out but you could argue that losing him resulted in a bigger overall infusion of talent.

Bro, he's the starter and playing day 1 for a school 30 minutes from his hometown and making a shite ton of a money.

The ship has sailed, let him do his thing. We will be fine
