listening to all the pundits, they believe LSU will have a good team and all, but almost no one believes we will beat Clemson.

If we pull out that win, and I think we will, you'll see the narrative drastically change.

Thank Verge for his miserable scheduling. We could be playing someone like NC State, Texas Tech or Minnesota at Tiger Stadium.

Preseason polls weigh heavily on the perceived strength of schedule. LSU has a tougher schedule than most of these teams considered a playoff “lock.”

I’m confused why Clemson is being perceived as better than LSU. We have a much more talented roster.

I know jack shite about Clemsons roster, but people say they have a lot of dudes. The thing that confuses me is they have been pretty damn average the last couple years. Very comparable to LSU. All of a sudden they are suppose to make this massive jump? I don’t see how you can predict that.

They have a senior QB who is a projected all American. 3 stud receivers. 2 rising juniors on DLine that are productive and projected top 10 picks. A first round CB. Another high round pick on DL. A good OL with a ton of experience. They’re one of the 5 best teams in the country this year for sure and even if LSU can find a way to beat them they’ll still probably finish 11-1 and win the ACC.

Sounds like you could be talking about LSUs roster. Again, why are people talking like they are head and shoulders above LSU, I don’t know. They are very comparable. The game is basically a pick ‘em with Clemson getting home field advantage.

Finishing 9-4 and getting blown out three games in a row probably doesn't help.

You do realize Clemson is on a 2 game opener losing streak, got blown out by Georgia last year 34-3. And went 10-4 last year.

We’re playing on the road. With a brand new Oline and we’ve lost 5 straight openers.

Rail against the media all you want but if you’re not at least a little worried about this game then you’re being a homer.

This is a good Clemson team. I think this is a very good LSU team. Winning a true road game week one is still going to be a tall task.

I could be way off base but isn’t clemson’s roster a bit top heavy with talent? Doesn’t feel like they’ve recruited the same since NIL.

You’d have to be pretty naive to expect a win but we’ll see.

They bring back the most production from last year in the NCAA, and they probably have the best DLine in the country while we will have a brand new OLine. Of course we are still very talented and can win, I’m just pointing this out because these reasons are why people think they are better than us.

Yeah all those guys were amazing last year, right?…………………. Oh wait, they lost 4 games and got their asses completely whipped by Georgia and Texas. (Who were overrated last year honestly)

I’m not buying the Clemson orange cool-aid that the media is brewing up this year.

I don’t think we will beat Clemson either.
Clemson is good.
It’s in their house.
We haven’t won openers lately.
Kelly’s teams have always come out flat.

If I'm a pundit of course I'm not picking LSU

People will say stuff like this without being able to name 5 people off of Clemson roster

This is BKs 1st Tiger team with a legitimate shot at competing for championship. With a 85 man roster you need quality depth along the OL and DLs, he finally has that. That kind of depth take time to accumulate. If you don’t believe me ask Kirby and Dabbo, Sark how many years it took them to get where they are.I can garentee you it wasn’t 3 years.

Haven't checked lately, but isn't the spread around 2 points? There are obviously a lot of people that believe LSU will beat Clemson. This isn't some lopsided point spread where it would be a big upset.

there is no way you know that.....and how many times has LSU had like 5 guys projected first round, that didn't pan out? Their QB wasn't that great against weak competition the last few years. We have a pretty good QB too, that imo is more battle tested against tougher teams, albeit has started one year less in experience. We also have a couple of stud receivers.....some really good returning D.

of course....who else is worth a shite in that conference
