Looks like that big union raise is working out really well for UPS employees

Teamsters say it violates the contract.
And this comes after UPS said in April it planned to cut 20,000 U.S. positions this year.
After the Teamsters contract kicked in and raised labor costs, UPS took a hard look at their deal with Amazon and basically said, “This isn’t working anymore.” They’d been giving Amazon huge volume discounts for years, but once you factored in the new wages, they were practically delivering those packages for free, sometimes filling up entire trucks with low-margin Amazon stuff.
So UPS told Amazon they wanted to scale it back to the tune of a 50% reduction. Now, instead of letting Amazon take over the whole truck, the trucks are about half Amazon, half normal (and more profitable) packages. They’d rather ship fewer boxes that actually turn a profit than haul around Amazon’s bulk for next to nothing, and this all came about as a direct result of the union pushing for that absurd contract because prior to that, Amazon packages were still profitable.
The union cost these people their jobs but do you think any of them will learn a lesson and refuse to join a union at their next job?
UPS plunged after saying it would deliver fewer Amazon packages. Its CEO says it's about 'taking control of our destiny.'

You know what I hate about Unions? That they never look at both sides of the fence. How are you going to complain about labor violation when there's no money to complain about?
They'll suck UPS dry and move on to the next foolish logistics company they can gain a foothold in.

Their drivers make like 30+ dollars an hour, have full time benefits as seasonal employees and deliver packages just like Fed ex and amazon do for a comparable price while fed ex an amazon pay half of that. . Im stunned this whole thing has made it as long as it has. They also have a ton of opportunities to make double time wages.

Unions did serve a purpose but should have died when federal workforce laws came about.

Those unions work because idiots have been brainwashed into still paying for NFL Sunday Ticket, higher streaming prices, higher actual ticket prices, etc and they have no other competition.
UPS has competition, and people have limits on what they will pay to ship something.

That's the down side to unions. The idea and power of united representation is good, until humans and our inherent greed become involved and ruin it.

Read the details...the payment is IN ADDITION to your already accrued retirement benefits. Anybody that is less that a few years out from retirement will gladly take it.

This is hard to believe , every time I walk outside there's a delivery truck of some type going through the neighborhood.
They must deliver at least 100 packages a week just up and down our street
