A refreshing turn away from electric vehicles but our lawmakers are curiously silent on ethanol.

Maybe a good number of farmers are also welfare queens?

To destroy small engines and bring agony to people like me. Oh and yeah keep grain prices up so farmers get a cut of the funds.

I know the car corn is different... but it will never cease to amaze me that as long as there are starving, hungry or food insecure people in our country and across the globe- people we subsidize, be they here or abroad... that we are feeding corn to our dadgum automobiles.

Well I seent a YT short yesterday of some lobbyist heading into the Iowa State Legislature yesterday fully prepared to discuss the "losses" they would incur due to this coke going to sugar move. The "losses", while Iowa could sell as much corn as they wanted to around the globe. Iowa having a sitting US Senator that's 975 years old helps, too. No one is going to cross him.

You get a new carb and change it out. Mean while I will use ethanol free gas and let you get the Amazon deliveries.

I vaguely remember Chuck Grassley and Jonnie Ernst pushing Trump on the campaign trail to support Iowa corn and that means ethanol subsidies.

I asked Google AI how much money in the federal budget subsidizes ethanol production? Google AI said it was difficult to determine the total cost for ethanol subsidies but it is in the billions annually.

Ethanol is the anti-knock agent of choice. It replaced MTBE which was leaching into groundwater and has known environmental risks. MTBE replaced tetraethyl lead which has major health risks.

Facts, it's bullshite. They tried to get it removed with a bill, but the famer lobbyists squashed it.

Hypocrisy at it's finest.

That is 100% NOT why we have ethanol in our gasoline.

Because the corn industry needs alternative markets. We really do not eat much of the supply. Most of it goes to feed for animals

I use non ethanol gas all the time in my cars and boats. What is the anti knocking agent in non ethanol gasoline? Just higher molecular weight hydrocarbons to raise the octane level? (I hate that term because chemically it’s a misnomer).
