Here's the actual updated text of the agreement:

quote:

The [End User License Agreement] is effective from the earlier of the date You purchase, download or use the Product, until terminated according to its terms. You and UBISOFT (or its licensors) may terminate this EULA, at any time, for any reason. Termination by UBISOFT will be effective upon (a) notice to You or (b) termination of Your UBISOFT Account (if any) or (c) at the time of UBISOFT's decision to discontinue offering and/or supporting the Product. This EULA will terminate automatically if You fail to comply with any of the terms and conditions of this EULA. Upon termination for any reason, You must immediately uninstall the Product and destroy all copies of the Product in Your possession.

Ubisoft is really embracing its new role as the ultimate villain for gamers. They’re approaching mustache twirl territory.

On the bright side they’ll be more useful in this role than at making games

I honestly thought they could turn it around, but this certainly isn't going to help.

the only ubisoft series I play is far cry, so this doesn't really affect me. I can live without it if they are going to be dicks.

They make solid games, but in my opinion they haven't made a GREAT game since AC Odyssey. They're really overestimating their importance to the current gaming market.

They make the same game over and over again basically at this point just reskinned. It is/was a fun model of game but they have basically stagnated and their monetization is obnoxious. It doesnt help other companies have used the ubisoft open world to make far better games imo in the past 5 years like ghost of tsushima and rebirth. Neither of which brought monetization with them other than the very good expansion for ghost.

They reap what they sow. They had the expedition 33 leads laboring away on ghost recon and beyond good and evil 2

They are completely cooked

One of the most impressive corporate self-immolations we’ve seen

Ubisoft continues to be a bunch of fricking clowns pretending to be a AAA publisher.

I am convinced that Ubisoft might have the worst leadership in the entire games industry. I think they would only be rivaled by Unity and perhaps Bungie.

I read an article today where they were like, "Outlaws failed because Star Wars is declining in popularity."

Like no, it failed because you paid a frick ton to license the product and then made an extremely average game.

The fact that all this was started by them shutting down The Crew of all things is amusing to me though.

It is a very long and convoluted story that led to the stop killing games iniative in the EU which actually has the possibility of helping us out, theres a bunch of youtube videos im sure that recap the story

The last Ubisoft game I bought was Ghost Recon Break Point....and well the title is apropos as that was my breaking point with them. I purchased it years later too with all the patches and changes it it was still an unbelievably frustrating experience to play...then its stopped connecting and couldn't even play single player....such a shame would've liked to seen another Splinter Cell
