He must be seriously injured because that’s a lot of police around the Canal st.

I don’t walk around the area adjacent to the first couple of blocks of Canal any longer.

Heard it was a white kid from belle Chasse doing donuts in the intersection. Cop tried to stop him and he got hit.

Arrest has already been made. Baw is gonna be in some hot water.

ETA: NOPD officer will be fine.

Some reports are saying it was at Bourbon and Conti.

Driver fled to near the casino.

Cops followed and caught him. Perp has a decent past of run ins for this and other assaults.

I always tell people if you're in a serious emergency situation and absolutely need help as fast as you can get it, just say a cop is on the ground with a gunshot wound and give them your location.

Next time you believe the NOPD isn’t capable of responding to a crime scene quickly and in sufficient numbers, injure an NOPD officer and watch.

Sounds like a great way to get yourself and your dog shot.

Don't they do that all the time anyway?

Maybe, but I wouldn't want to encourage it.

I was in the French quarter Rouses one morning and a shoplifter got into a physical fight with an employee. I started to call 911 because it got pretty rough. Another employee told me “I got this”. He called 911 and said he thought the shoplifter had a gun. Another employee told me “baby that’s the only way the cops gonna come”

they only care when it’s one of their own. same with police departments all across the country. one of the biggest reasons why 2A is so important

I think you are right on the “from belle Chasse” point.
