If we beat Clemson,should we be no 1?

Only other ranked matchup is Tex-OSU. No. 1 Penn St.(that won’t last) plays unranked Nevada.
If we go on the road and beat #2 would we not be the logical choice for #1? ( not that logic has any bearing on this!)

If LSU beats Clemson, they need to go ahead and cancel the playoffs and give LSU the national championship trophy since apparently this Clemson team will be as good as their 2018 team the way a lot of people are hyping this Clemson team even though I don’t see it. They could very well still beat LSU and I actually expect them to. But this Clemson team is not those Watson and Lawrence teams.

I am in Greenville South Carolina right now. I've had about five conversations with Clemson fans. Mostly they are bewailing the fact that Clemson has to schedule an "NFL team "to start every season. Lol
