I still don’t feel like aspects of society are the same since Covid?

Could list a million things but as an example we keep hearing how decent the economy is but it just seems like it is on the brink of collapse. Is it just me or is it just a mindset that I can’t shake?

You’re just in the denial stage of being poor.
Lean into the acceptance stage, baw.

The effects of four years of potato will still be felt for a few years.

I’m firmly of the opinion that Covid greatly accelerated the demise of central bank issued fiat currencies.

quote:The biggest problem is that it is massively deflationary which is incongruent with a fiat system predicated on inflation. We just further carve out the middle class.

Mainstream news will do that.

I was thinking about this today. Less workers, people are lazier and more addicted to drugs. These things cause wait times to be longer, quality of food, maintenance issues, etc to be less reliable. I could go on and on.
Just thought of another example i dealt with last week. Before covid our vacation rentals at the beach, the cleaning lady would be gone way before we got there for check in. Since covid every year the cleaning lady is still there (or just leaving)when we are allowed to check into our beach house.

I feel like everyone is so damn lazy now

Everything seems more expensive now. Especially food and trucks.

I frequently think back to those days. What a strange time in American society it was...
Empty streets in major cities. Everyone on edge. Someone coughs and it scares the shite out of people. Toilet paper out of stock. The masks. Body count graphics on the news.
"Two weeks to stop the spread, y'all!"
I do my best to try to remember it, because it was not normal.

If our country had any standards the entirety of our governmental apparatus down to local dog catcher that had even a tangential connection to the totalitarian lunacy of the Chinese Flu farce would have been tarred and feathered.

Don’t know how poor people are surviving
Posted on 7/18/25 at 5:36 am to Grumpy McSmiles
I went grocery shopping the night before the 'two weeks to stop the spread' was going to start. Not because of that--just because that was the day I would usually do grocery shopping. There was also some widespread rumor that the Army or the National Guard were going to be doing patrols or some s***.
The grocery store looked like the scene from Deep Impact where everyone is clamoring to get into the underground 'arks' for humanity's survival. People emptied the shelves just buying whatever they could like the world was about to end.
Honestly pretty pathetic. It's like the Joker line from Dark Knight, when things don't go according to plan, everyone loses their minds.
Then it turns out they knew from the beginning what it was and that widely available medicines and therapeutics could have prevented the whole shutdown and saved millions of lives. But they needed the Emergency Use Authorization so they could make billions on the fricking vaccine.
Predicate for a stolen election. Autopen pardon of POS Fauci.
FJB! With a capital 'F'.
I'll never forget that s***. I think I'll carry that anger with me to the grave. God help us.
