Playing NCAA and I see brown has a 99 speed and Hilton has 93. I always thought Hilton was faster.

brown is one of the best kickoff returners in the history of college football, that alone gives him a big bump on speed . those ratings are based of stats and general opinions

que?
From Barion Brown's LSU sports bio
Think its more than general opinions.

What’s their acceleration?
Posted on 7/17/25 at 8:32 pm to Hahnville07
As long as they can both outrun the other teams db’s thats all that matters.

I thought it was funny that Jelani the track star had a lower speed as well

Yes that was definitely weird

I think they can both run a 4.4, which is elite.
Maybe Brown can get in the 4.3s
Jefferson ran a 4.43 & Chase ran a 4.38

I watched some Brown highlights a couple days ago and didn’t realize how fast he was. Hilton might have more straight line top end speed but Brown looks very quick cutting and making players miss.

I’m pretty sure Hilton is a 4.3 guy

Both Brown and Hilton will run 4.3 at combine next year.

I saw that too and chuckled but I will say this… having watched Jalani 3-4 times in the 100m he has an incredible second 50 speed.

Based on a post by Cap, Brown ran a 4.34 and Hilton ran a 4.35.

Put them both in a full football uni then time them. That will settle it. Some can carry the speed through WITH the equipment on, others cannot.

They have Hilton criminally slow in the game. Makes no sense.

It doesn’t really matter but being one best returners doesn’t mean you are the fastest. There have been plenty of returners who were the fastest guys in the game but were not that great. It has more to do with blocking and great vision.

Good example here. There is a difference between timed speed and game speed. In game situations IMO jets plays faster than chase
