To those who think we will roll Clemson, Mel Kiper has 4 of them in the top 14 of the draft -- 2 on O, 2 on D. Down vote all you want. Just saying.

So? We had a Heisman qb and went 10 n 3 with 3 first rounders. Let's go pop em in the damn mouth.

Like our chances a lot better this year than last. Defense is going to be so much better. With weeks and Perkins causing havok, will be fun to watch. There should be no excuses this year. We have the players that we need to win.

If we lose, it will be on the coaches.

Well if Mel Kiper says so, might as well just forfeit.

Why even bother playing the game?

Might as well just forfeit, why make the trip?

Idc if we play the saints, I’ll always find a way to make myself think LSU can win. This is that soy boy mentality

I can’t downvote enough. This will be the best team they play all year.

Thanks for clearing that up. I was going to watch but now I’ll use my time more wisely.
Great title too!

I downvoted because I’ve seen this in a new thread daily the past month… now tangent time

I tell people all the time that in mid July I expect LSU football to roll everyone and win a national championship the upcoming season.

I feel that way right now but realistically we’re going on the road against a likely top 10 team in the country. I don’t know exactly who, when or where they have scheduled outside of game 1 this year but can say fairly confidently that we’re by far the best team they’ll play this fall. It just so happens to be the first game of the year.

Experienced QBs on both sides but again, first game, so like so many games of football it will come down to winning in the trenches. Can our new OL hold up against the best dline the ACC has to offer ( it’s probably a top five d-line we’ll see this year…) Can our deep DL and highly regarded LBs stop their run game and wreck havoc in the backfield. If our backend woes on D are even remotely resolved and guys aren’t running free once a series then it will come down to the trenches.

The last time we won an opener we went on to win a national championship. The teams we’re 0-5 against in openers since are not any better than this Clemson team. I want to see to believe but we seemingly have the roster in place to win this game.

To sum it up simply, I don’t give a shite about Clemson’s top end draft eligible talent and no real LSU fan should. This is about playing LSU football and dominating a pretty good team from an inferior conference just like the last time we were on the same field as them.

Tennessee had 4 drafted in the first round and 8 in the first 3 rounds of the MLB draft and look what happen to them. Who cares what they have. I’m just glad some of you pansies are not playing in the game!

This is a fresh take, lol. It’s not like people have been obsessing over this for months. The only place I think we will have trouble competing is our offensive line vs their defensive line. Beyond that we can match up fine.
