My boys both have an Xbox and with the summer in full swing I’d like to get them off Fortnite and on to some game they could work together on.
Anyone have something they would recommend?

It Takes Two is pretty good, forces you to cooperate to figure out puzzles, etc.

It takes two, A way out, and Split-fiction are all made by Hazelight Studios. Highly recommend all 3. Split-fiction came out in March of this year so that will be the most expensive.
Overcooked can be fun but also I could see it leading to some hysterical screams depending on how old they are.

my wife and I did Baldur's Gate 3 in the couch co-op mode. That'll certainly keep them busy for the rest of the summer.

A Way Out is a good game for 2 brothers.
I commend your effort no matter what game you pick.
Fortnight they will play hours on end and at the end of the day they haven't completed anything, or worked toward a resolution. Its just a dopamine drip that they chase over and over, round after round, with most games being forgotten as soon as they end.

Thanks for the recs.
They downloaded sea of thieves and it takes 2 and seem dumbfounded there’s games that build on a story.
Hopefully it’ll start a trend where they continue to find these types

how old are your boys? don't wanna recommend anything to mature if they are really young.
Some old fashioned beat em up arcade games are hard to go wrong with
Castle crashers is pretty old, not even sure if you can get it these days on the modern systems, but its great if you can.
teenage mutant ninja turtles: shredders revenge and streets of rage 4 both are good beat em up.

There are lots of challenges and quests within Fortnite, if they’re into that

Grounded and Grounded 2 (Releases 7/29/2025) both are child friendly and fun if they enjoy survival story games.
