Anyone listen to Sean Ryan interview Gavin Newsom yet? I got about 20 minutes in before I couldn't go anymore.
He's a smooth talker, but much of his viewpoints seem to be predicated on lies or conflated data.

Gavin claimed people are moving to California. Is that accurate? I’m skeptical.

You can get a sense of their mindset through the way he explains it. I admittedly have never heard him speak.
He says several times the decisions were based on such and such data, or it's what the people of California wanted "overwhelmingly", but the data was faulty, or the people were misled.
He has just enough distance from the trigger to present each decision as bona fide.

California as its own country would be the 5th biggest economy in the world. Of course people will always be moving there. 10s of Thousands every year.
The question is does that replace the ones leaving.
The current trend is no. More people are leaving than moving to California every year.

i was barely able to get past all the "man, bro, brother" shmarmy BS from Gavin. But when Shawn did not press him on gun violence in red states vs their democrat cities, I lost a tremendous amount of respect for Shawn. He's a nice guy and all but he was being used by Gavin. He wasnt doing his own listeners any favors.

He framed it specifically as "gun deaths per state".
Problem is it's the blue cities in the red states, but those blue cities make up much more of the population in those red states than they do in California, so he gets to hide behind the sheer size of the state and call it gun safety.

Gavin made some good points.......said Mike Johnson's district has a murder rate 6X higher than Nancy Pelosi's which includes all of downtown S.F.
I will give Gavin credit for showing up and doing a 4 hour free form interview and not backing down.

I would hope a guy like JDV could easily dismantle each and every point made by Gavin in a debate, but would the moderator allow it?
