IMO this is one the tightest battles heading into camp. Mansoor delane is prob the only guy who has a cb spot locked up.
On the other side, you have freshmen phenom dj pickett, talented transfer jahkeem Jackson, and 3rd year player whose played alot of football off us in Ashton stamps along with a talented sophomore in PJ woodland. It’ll be interesting to see who gets the nod and it’s a good problem to have as we finally have a cb room filled with a lot of talent and depth.

My guess is Delane and Pickett based off of the spring

Unless Pickett is clearly the best player in the room (possible), I’d expect Delane & Stamps. It’s typically what BK has done in the past. I’d hope it’s Pickett & Delane

Correct its delane and stamps with Pickett at nickel.
DJP is the heir apparent and already has the physical tools, just needs to learn playbook. Could be starting by Florida game if necessary

Delane and Pickett is the answer.
You’re not leaving Pickett on the bench with Williams, Wesco and Moore on the other side.

I think Delane & Pickett are your two most talented dudes. That being said, I think they go Delane & Stamps because of experience. Probably look to kick stamps inside on nickel packages to bring Pickett in though. Did that last year with Woodland against USC and he got exposed a little so it was short lived. If Pickett comes in and holds his own, it might be a different story.
The problem is that LSU rarely goes to a true nickel look because they use their "Star" (Perkins) Last year Burns, as a nickel most of the time. It helps against the run but hurts you in pass coverage.

& kept Sage Ryan at CB

There was a period of time where sage Ryan and Duce chestnut were our boundary corners…. We were down bad at corner for the last couple years

doesn't matter. The mismatch between our O-line and their D-line is scary.

We'll have to try some max protection, rollouts, etc. One thing to also note is no more Josh Williams, who was the most experienced and consistent on pass blocking pickups.

Our o line is filled with 5 stars and top 100 guys we’re not at all lacking talent just gotta find the best combo

I'd do the opposite. We have outstanding skill players. Spread them out and make them defend the field against a quick passing game. That slows the rush and creates opportunities for big plays.
Max protect is too easy to defend and plays into the defense's hands.

Agreed wr is the strength of our offense. You neutralize that by playing max protect. Embrace your identity and spread that Clemson defense out and force them into playing nickel vs our skilled position talent which should open up running opportunities for Durham also

How did this get 6 up votes?
Pickett is not playing nickel corner.

Note that BK called Delane a safety then a corner at media days. I'll still say Delane and Stamps

Yea unless Pickett is shadowing an assignment and goes into the slot I don’t see him playing nickel you want that speed and length on the boundary. Stamps is more likely to play the slot

Because he lacks reaction and speed compared to the rest of the DB room.

I have been wanting Stamps to play nickel and blitz for awhile now. The one time I can remember him blitzing last year he absolutely lit up Jaxson Dart never to be seen blitzing again that I recall. I don’t think he’s fast or reactionary enough for boundary corner.
