Now you See Me 1 and 2. Good?

So these movies baffle me. I like every actor in them. It’s a truly elite ensemble in both films. Good budget. Actually reasonably interesting plot. Oceans 11 type energy yet it’s not even in the same stratosphere in terms of enjoyability.
On paper it seems like these movies should be great but they just aren’t. I think these movies mark a turning point where blockbusters just started to wilt and transition into the climate we are currently in where there are barely any mega movie hits anymore outside of a few number of never ending franchises.

I like them both but I love heist movies. You have to suspend belief a bit though but they're fun

Now You See Me was one of the worst endings I’ve seen. Not bad and then the reveal was just terrible. Hated it.

These are like the magic version of Fast and Furious.
Instead of going from street racing to space, they go from doing street magic stuff to being 5th years at Hogwarts in the second movie

I enjoy both as fun flicks. Not something I take seriously, but that being said, the second one was worse and the third one trailer looks moreso.

It blows my mind they didn’t call the 2nd one Now You Don’t and for that reason I’ll never see it

They’re decent. It’ll kill some time and probably won’t make you want to turn the tv off mid watch.

Yeah it’s terrible but I’ll still watch it. So were they imbued with supernatural magic or what? It makes no sense … watch me do this card trick and now watch me actually teleport

Yeah. Movies have to follow some type of logic or it falls apart. Doesn’t have to be “realistic” obviously. But it has to set the rules and play by them for intrigue. Just doing whatever you want for action/convenience too much just makes for a poor movie.

1 was fun….and then the ending happened and you’re just like what in the actual frick.
