He’s the hero we deserve and need right now.

Best thing he ever did for his reputation was selling Lucasfilm to Disney

And now a lot of Star Wars fans would take him in a heartbeat over Disney

Can’t believe Disney ditched his main story arch of Jar Jar being the ultimate Sith Lord

The craziest thing the sequels ever did was have some hardcore fans pretend like the prequels minus Episode III were not arse

Not gonna lie, I never got the hate for Phantom Menace. Granted the movie was released when I was 11-12, so it was made for my demographic. I didn't much care for Attack of the Clones but I did really enjoy Revenge of the Sith. Sure, Phantom Menace has Jar Jar Binks and a very bad Jake Lloyd performance. But it also has an epic soundtrack courtesy of John Williams, Ewan McGregor's Obi-Wan Kenobi, a pretty bad arse lightsaber duel, the pod racing scene, and a couple of pretty epic space battles.

I completely agree. I’m not a huge Star Wars fan and I never understood the hate for that movie. I had a really good time seeing it in the theater. I even started liking Attack of the Clones more as the years have gone by and Disney completely fricked the sequels.

Seriously the biggest case of “don’t know what you got til it’s gone”

Lucas may have shredded the prequels but damn he knew how to build worlds. The dogshit Rey trilogy would not have been dog shite if he was involved you can bet your arse on that

Let me correct that for you, and also offer this explanation:

The execution of the sequels were bad, a lot of the acting was wooden, and many fans of the OT felt like the non-Force angles were very neglected. If you happened to like Han (a rogue, pilot, badass with a pistol etc) more than Luke (developing Jedi/"wizard"), tough shite. That side of Star Wars is ignored.
But those films are basically an encyclopedia of Star Wars knowledge, setting things up and giving tons of backstory.

There's basically nothing to take away from the sequels.

Is anyone going to ask him how Kathleen Kennedy went from getting him and Spielberg coffee to being in charge of Star Wars?

I’ve always said Lucas explained a little too much in the prequels. If he’d have started with Anakin being like 15 then jumped forward a few years in each movie he could have explored more of the Clone Wars and Anakin’s fall to the dark side could have been more gradual and less jarring.

I do think he would have kept Darth Maul alive longer had he done something along those lines. That was a pretty big missed opportunity.

My daughter asked to rewatch all of Star Wars with the shows and everything. We finished episode one and she turned to me and asked has episode one always been that terrible?

She remembered it being better as a 5-6 year old.

Had to break the truth to her, that yes child. It has indeed always sucked.
