Surely nobody here is buying them one by one at Lowe's or some store.
I just bought 4 for $63 on EBAY. Lowe's asks $58 for one!
Just curious if anyone recommends a good source for purchase?

I buy mine at Lowes, Home Depot, or a local plumbing supply shop. But then my filter has a 15,000 gallon life so I only buy them yearly.

RedStag or Amazon or something the cheapest at the time. Usually get more than a one-pack when I find a decent price.
I find 5 or 6 "good deals" and put info in to see shipping cost as well.
Sometimes the better deal isn't, if Amazon free shipping or another with average shipping beats it. Pain in the arse and it shouldn't cost that much.

Bought a 3 pack from amazon. Chinese fakes. Wouldnt click and lock in. Returned them to Amazon. Now buy at Lowes or Walmart.

Search online. You're probably paying too much.

I seem to have found a discount code, too, for July STARS35
35% discount. I have not tried it since I just bought some.

Don't buy anything, water filters, air filters, rolls of paper towels, etc., one at a time. You know your wife doesn't care if your water was already fine, if she sees the light to change the filter on, she's going to make you change it anyway.

Reset the light and go on about your day

The filters are a scam. It's basically a subscription for fridges. Some new fridges don't work unless you replace it. I just get the cheap ones off amazon and they fit and work at a fraction of the cost.
I'm also fine with drinking tap water

I have also used them, no issues.

I think a two pack is less than $20 and I would much rather pay a little more and know I'm getting a genuine filter than some fake Chinese piece of crap.

Amazon used to have a ton of fakes, then they started cracking down on counterfeit filters. I used them a few times, but couldn't tell if it was actually filtering anything so I stopped changing it at all.
I did cut a fake one open and it was just a block of carbon. No different than the name brand.

Just wait a few more months, you’ll have to replace the appliance and it’ll come with a new filter.

Why even have a filter? We have some of the purest water around. We did just fine without them since forever. In some area's I'm sure they might be necessary, bur around here, no. I bought the plug to use instead of the filter.

I'm one of those people who just resets the filter light and doesn't actually change it for 18-24 months. My last one was actually over 2 years. Out of curiosity I cut the filter open. The carbon filter media still looked clean . Next time I'll go 3 years......
