CONCORD, NH — A federal judge in New Hampshire granted class-action status to a lawsuit seeking to protect babies who would be denied birthright citizenship by the Trump administration and granted a temporary block of the order restricting birthright citizenship from going into effect throughout the country. The suit was brought on behalf of a pregnant immigrant, immigrant parents and their infants and had sought class action status for all babies around the country who would be affected by Trump’s executive order and their parents.

WTF is going on? Thought the SC just voted Judges like this have no power to do these things.

Almost not worth paying attention to with loopholes and goalposts moving around so much.

Not really. There’s a loophole. Get ready for a new barrage of class action lawsuits.

I believe it exempted class actions.

Any member of this class action lawsuit has to be an illegal immigrant so just deport them since it's against the law to be here. If they are a legal citizen then they cannot be a member of the class and the lawsuit has no merit.

That was based on nationwide injunctions for individuals. If this is a true class, then nationwide is technically appropriate.

Also, pregnant immigrant does not mean illegal immigrant.

Being a class action and having a certified class changes things I believe. Or at least as it's explained to me is the proper way to handle this situation.

Why would a legal immigrant who is naturalized need to file a suit? It's clearly an illegal immigrant ready to pop a baby out on US soil.

The goal here is to delay this stuff as much as possible until Trump is gone and they can get Biden 2.0 elected and bring in cruise ships full of every non white color human they can find around the globe.

Odd thing is they are setting up class actions suits, that normally take time and a huge effort, for not only possible wrong doing but possible future wrongdoing by people yet to be wronged in some way

The solution is a constitutional amendment to change the law, not an executive order. If there's not enough support nationally for a constitutional amendment, then there's not enough support to change the law. That's how a representative constitutional republic is supposed to work. If you don't like how representative constitutional republics are supposed to work, move to a country that's not a representative constitutional republic.

I'm not sure why this is so hard for so many to understand.
