I want to take full and unequivocal responsibility for a serious mistake. Over the years, I made public statements and gave interviews in which I unintentionally misstated aspects of my military service. Most notably, I implied directly or indirectly that I had been awarded the Bronze Star with Valor. That is not true, and there is no excuse for it. I never received that honor, and I deeply regret ever suggesting otherwise. That kind of recognition is sacred. It represents extraordinary courage under fire acts that risk or cost lives. To those who truly earned it, and to their families and brothers-in-arms, I offer my sincere and direct apology. What I said disrespected your service, and I take full ownership of that. I was young when I stepped into the public eye, and while I wasn’t prepared for the scrutiny or pressure that came with it, that doesn’t absolve me. I should have known better. Integrity is not situational, and I failed to uphold the standards I claimed to represent. To the military and veteran community, especially those who’ve served in combat or lost people they love. I am deeply sorry. I know I’ve let many of you down. You had every right to expect more from me, and I didn’t live up to that.
This apology is not the end, it’s the beginning. I am committed to rebuilding trust through honest reflection, visible accountability, and ongoing service to the community I misrepresented myself to. I will no longer speak about my service in a way that elevates me beyond what I actually did. From now on, my words will be guided by truth, humility, and respect. I understand that words alone don’t heal disappointment or restore trust. Only time and action will. Thank you to those who have held me accountable. I will do my best to honor that accountability from this point forward. -Tim Kennedy
Dude has fabricated his entire military career it seems. He’s also publicly claimed to have received a Purple Heart and has gotten called out for that a bunch as well. Also seems to be dealing with some serious narcissistic tendencies.

His deal is people not believing the size of the force they fought?

That’s messed up. The guy obviously has enough real credentials to not have to claim a medal he didn’t receive.

Long tweet to announce that you’re a born again honest person lol. What a dumbass.
Whenever a grifter includes a line like this in an apology, you know it’s all bullshite. He thinks he matters to people way more than he actually does.

These SF dudes are like 16 year old girls. The drama with the Vet Bros has been mind blowing.

One of many errors. From his own words he didn't know the Navy was writing a book about him. He was basically told you are the new face of navy recruitment.
He quit buds and let his twin brother do 4 days of training while he healed.
He had all his clips on him when he was found. So he wasn't doing much shooting.
The force that took them down was around 10 to 20, some say 8 as opposed to 200.
Basically the navy hired a guy to write a movie for navy recruitment based loosely on Operation Red WIng and put Luttrell as the face of it.

His deal is he ran away like a little bitch while his team was under fire - allegedly.
I heard that directly from a gold squadron member about a year ago.

Stolen valor douchebags are the worst kind of assholes.
They minimize the service that the rest of us sacrificed years, and in some cases, lifes for.

I glazed over everything else after reading this. There was nothing unintentional about it. He’s not sorry. He’s only sad that he got caught.
The thing I find most disappointing about Tim Kennedy, is that he had a lot to be proud of. He really was a green beret. He really was a top MMA fighter. He really was in combat.
He did not need to fabricate all of this extra stuff about the extent of the combat or his awards in order to have had an exceptional life story.
I do agree with the comment above that the SF community is embarrassing. They may be trained killers but they are also bunch of little girls.

the comments on instagram were entertaining. I can't stand Kennedy, he always seemed like a hack to me. Same with Crenshaw.

How would anyone have any way of knowing that?

Hold on now, you are doing exactly what everyone in this thread is accusing him of doing
No need to exaggerate to prove a point. ‘Fabricating his entire military career’ is a bit of a stretch

quote:Ego. I knew SEALs who agreed on admit nothing, deny everything, and make counter-accusations. Their character was in question. You can't paint all of them with this brush, but there definitely is a segment that don't believe rules (any rules) apply to them.

I’ve never really cared for his public persona that’s for sure.
This is when I really started to dislike the guy:

I mean, the ribbons on your chest tells a pretty good story about your military career. And him fabricating that he received a Purple Heart and Bronze Star with a V are two pretty big deals.
Couple that with the various other yarns he’s spun about his time in country in which I’ve read people’s first hand opinions on, I’d say that I’m not too far off.
Yes, he’s a Green Beret, but I’d be hard pressed to believe much else about his service record that came from his mouth.
