I finally narrowed it down to the best available milk. It's been a hard 6 months.

Lots of bad milk. Lots of spoiled milk. Lots of overrated milk.
I've come to believe that most supermarkets are letting the milk sit unrefrigerated at some point in the supply chain. This has to be a grocer issue and not a dairy issue.
On the other hand, could be a dairy issue. The worst milks I've had were by southern dairies. It all spoiled 3 days early. Tasted like grass, etc. Borden was probably consistently the worst.
Overall, best milk by far was Oak Farms. Never spoiled early. Always kept super cold. Tasted like quality milk.
Runner up was Prairie Farms. Their milk was also excellent but only seemed to be carried at Rouses in a small section near the floor.
Just solving problems you didn't know you had.

My kid drinks Fairlife because of the lactose free and it’s grown on me. I thought it had a smell but I don’t notice it anymore.

Prairie Farms is really good. It’s everywhere in the Midwest. Surprised you found it down in LA. Here it’s cheaper than organic but a few dollars more than the store brands. Worth paying a little extra for it definitely.

I didn't count Fairlife because it's lactose free and that opens up a whole other box of crap I'm not interested in. It also starts tasting funny at Day 4 opened IMO. Smells like plastic.
Fairlife chocolate milk might the the Fat Man GOAT though.

Jersey Cow Milk - Promised Land Dairy
Supermarket - HEB Brand
I believed they purchased Barber's and that's why. I'd put them over Oak Farms.

Do you have spreadsheets for this experiment? I bet you have spreadsheets.

Costco milk is good for like 2 months or something crazy. Seems to have a longer shelf life than all other milk I've seen.
It tastes perfectly fine too.

Shamrock brand from a gas station is guaranteed to be spoiled. The few times I’ve needed it for a baby in a late night pinch it’s fricked me over

I know it isn't everyone's thing, but their strawberry milk is legit.

Familiar with the problem! There is a store close to us that I avoid buying any milk if at all possible. FYI - pretty sure CVS carries Prairie Farms. Don't think I've ever noticed Oak Farms, where do you buy that?

Publix 2% is good enough for me

Market Basket. They don't carry much of it. Whole only comes in half gallons there. 2% is gallon.
Fantastic milk.
Fantastic milk.

My kid drinks a gallon of milk every 2 days. Bought Prairie Farms twice and both times he said it tasted like shite.
