Well, that's dumb in places like FL and TX, who don't charge income tax but use property tax for revenues.
I see this headed for a flat consumption tax across the country.
OK Trump, lets roll. 3.5 years to pass the BBflat tax Bill

At least make people who live in trailers below the homestead exemption amount pay something too so my property tax can come down. Why am I punished for “owning” property by having to pay for libraries, schools, and mosquito abatement while they get off scot free?

Let me guess: It ends in 2029?

Hell yeah. You shouldnt have to pay annual taxes on something you paid taxes to buy to begin with.
Using income you also paid taxes on too.
That’s a triple tax grift.
Local states and governments will fight.

I'm 100% in favor of this (Don't get me started on the Caddo Parish Tax Assessor's office).

Wouldn’t that be factored into the price rent?

Please God let this happen

Idk if I'm a fan of this. The revenue from property taxes is used to fund services by the state they are required constitutionally for the state. Things like education and other projects that typically are gonna help raise my property value anyways. The revenue would have to be made up in someway atleast for Oklahoma to effectively operate and provide required services.

You can write off your mortgage interest but only if you itemize. I don’t think renters should be charged property tax because they get nothing when they move out. I bought my first house at 25 and on my 4th at 44. I’ve done way better than someone renting the last 19 years.
Now that I live in Texas no property tax would be a game changer.

Outside of abolishing the IRS this would be Trumps greatest achievement. Property tax is straight up theft.

I mean, I wish it could be true, but property tax is a state function, not a federal function.
Is he just talking about replacing state property tax by having the fed charge the same amount instead against taxpayers on the fed level?

Hes a real estate developer. This doesn't have to be any more complicated than he just found out how much it cost him this quarter...
