For a couple of years now, many of us have dreamed about acquiring Walker Kessler from Utah. Shamit says that now is the time to go get him.

It would be a great Trade for the Pels! Securing a top 5 rim protector on a rookie contract. Plus getting an expiring John Collins who could be flipped at trade deadline or be effective small ball five. All for an unproven and however, talented big and an overrated poor shooting , shooting guard. All the while ridding yourself of an anchor contract in DJM is a real win for Pels!

Yes, I understand Kessler will need an extension. If we get him we should pay it. His extension will be in the 25 mil range. So we would have our rim protector for the next 5 years. Added bonus is shedding DJM hawk and missi while adding Kessler , if we move Collins or let him expire pels would gain around 12 the 15 mil in cap space

I think this would be a very dumb trade
Missi definitely can end up being better than Kessler. Love his potential to be able to defend more on the perimeter.

I wanted Kessler last year when it was clear all we had was a rookie center. Missi got some seasoning and we actually improved big man depth this off-season. If we add another big, I'd want it to be of the shooting variety.
Are we even sure Missi can't be as good or better than Kessler? I'd hesitate to swap them 1 for 1 considering Missi might actually become the better of the 2 players and also Kessler being 2 years closer to getting paid vs Missi.
