It's a bargain even if he gives you 12-15 minutes a game!

If we in need of a 30 yr old who’s playing time has reduced each of the last 3 years from 24 min/game to 14 min/game and has career avg of 6 rebounds, 4.5 points, 1.5 assists & .5 blocks a game!

What a waste of money. Stupid arse signing. And I’m someone who’s always appreciated Looneys hustle.

He is probably a declining player but I suspect he is being brought in as much for his leadership and mentoring of the young bigs. I think it is a slight overpay, but we know we have to overpay to get players here.

He’s getting the same amount of money as Capela and Lopez. It’s definitely an overpay. Sucks we have to pay the ‘no one wants to be here tax’

I thought he’d get 4-5 a year.

How? Reliable big man that can get boards and set screens. Give you 15-20 minutes a night. Much needed depth at that spot

Also gotta realize many FAs DO NOT want to come here unless we overpay. Only so much you can do. Capela would much rather go to Houston. Same with Lopez in LA

I watch way too much warriors basketball to admit…. This signing is trash. Looney is a liability at best at this point.

Right. 8 mil is nuts for looney.

Maybe 4 years ago.

So overpay a better player. Not looney.

you think we could pay the same for those guys? They’d want much more than that to come here.

If we giving him 8, shoukd only be for one year. We straddled ourselves with a bad contract for two years now.

Every warrior fans is upset he’s gone. We need him for veteran big leadership. He also comes from a championship organization. Played a major part to winning those championships. Queen, Matkovic, Zion and Missi is going to benefit a lot practicing against him. Especially the ones who kept questioning Queen motor and effort. Some of you guys are insufferable. Not everyone needs to be a starter.

We had a bottom 3 center situation in the league last year. All we have done to improve it is sign Looney who averaged 4.5/6.1 in 15 mpg last year and drafted a rookie who has defensive and conditioning concerns. The rookie also cost us an unprotected pick so we have no first round pick next year. There is now a huge amount of pressure on Missi. If he does not take a huge step forward this year then the season is over before it starts.

It's going to be a multi-year process. I don't see any way this team seriously competes in the west. Too many questions marks and the competition has gotten even stronger this off-season.

I thought that was obvious. The die was cast when we traded BI. It was obvious then that we were doing some kind of rebuild.

I don't know what Griff would've done this off-season, but Dumars has opted to try for a quick rebuild. Our potential to contend in a few years will be determined by what kind of players Fears and Queen turn out to be, as well as what happens with Zion.

Contending in the next few years is dependent on 1) Zion being healthy 2) Trey being an all star level player 3) fears, queen turning out to be good.
