WHY!

So I can fall off a ladder?

I dare say gutters CAUSE more fascia board rot than they prevent

Why can't I just surround the house with rocks? Big rocks and drain rock...

You can. Or just put landscape drainage, which I did.

You don’t really.

Either use rocks or a French drain

Well you don’t lol, nobody is making you get them.

With that said, I like them because on my patio I don’t love water flowing and splashing the ground so hard and making a mess of our covered area. They are a good quality of life upgrade for my backyard.

I feel you. Having mine replaced because they're filled with debris and sagging and water won't drain and I nearly killed myself trying to reach them with a 20' ladder.

I mean, I've already got them, but I think they're coming down when I get the time, or I'll hire a young guy

Depends on the soil your home is built on. Where I live we sit on about 4 inches of top soil then limestone, so shedding water away from the foundation is important.

In Louisiana sitting on straight clay, not a big deal.

I had gutters installed on my previous home and they were more trouble than they’re worth. I took them down myself after a few years.

Try installing a leaf filter. You can stay off the ladder.

I have never seen the point in having gutters. Last year, I took mine down after years of fighting with that bullshite. Good riddance…

I added some to my house. After the flood we took out Sheetrock and saw that the wood was rotten from the water splashing back.

Gutters cause termites because more often than note the homeowner is not maintaining them properly. They think cleaning once or twice is all they need to do.

I dont have gutters because, as a contractor, I have seen the damage they cause and because I dont want to clean them. I have french drains all around under a gravel bed between my house and where my landscaping starts

I utilized sand around house perimeter.
Packs well. In a year or so grass grows over, holds in in place, can't tell it's there.
