The issue was/is no head coach will touch him with how he acted. HC don’t want snakes always trying to get them fired

O was the perfect man for the job and 2019 was glorious and would’ve never happened without him.

Lots of haters on here for Coach O but I will never forget the greatest team in NCAA history in 2019 that I was honored to watch.

All hail Coach O and 2019!

Celebrity is what he believes himself to be. If he takes a job, he will not be what he used to be.

We are all very grateful for what he did, we can also point out that he quit working after winning the championship

Orgeron Sycophant Dribble.

2019 was all Brady-Ensminger, Burrow, Aranda, Busch (Got Burrow out of Ohio and into LSU) and Chase.

O was a great cheerleader while running up and down the sidelines clapping his hands and staying out of the way.........

This. I don't understand why people have to lean so hard one way or the other. He was great, then he sucked. It's pretty simple.

Wasn't his offense pretty strong in 2020?
The defense, imo, was designed to fail, when Pellini was hired.

Who recruited or hired those you mentioned? No head coach can be successful without good assistant coaches or players.

I would take coach O right now for any position coach for the tigers. The same good luck he had caught him the same way with a lot of bad luck. Some only he created but most was out of his control. Downvote me all u want but he was a good gameday coach.

Was he obligated to? Did he have to? Did he need to?

top-notch recruiter

The recruiting environment he excelled in is prehistoric now with NIL. It's a different world.

I will say he needed to be fired when he was, but I remember his first game as interim against Mizzou he broke offensive records which was a welcome gift after Les left

Burrow didn't come to lsu because of O.
O proved himself to be nothing more than a career dline coach. Yeah he was the hc for 2019 but he also drove lsu into the worst situation since Dinardo. Hell saban inherited a better roster than Kelly did.

Wow.

His last two years were “so good.”

ETA: For clarification I want to point out while he was the HC in 2019, he didn’t discover Joe Burrow. As others have stated.

The following year he checked out. And the year after that even more so.

The way he “left” still doesn’t sit well with me.

“No, I won’t be coaching the bowl game. Let’s go Brandy.”
