The fella that got hit in bucket truck working on red light. Has anyone heard if he was injured severely?

Obviously, I'm not too up to speed on bucket trucks, but why didn't one of those workers simply lower him to the ground instead of hanging upside down for so long?

Don't know for certain but I'm going to guess the "boom" was probably damaged from the impact leaving the controls worthless. Video showed a coworker immediately go the the controls and try to lower it.
