If it’s losing air, yea. Otherwise, no.

The sensor sounds like the least of your problems if tires are dry rotted

Had pressure checked. All at 34 to 35 as should be.

If you have a blow out, yes.

Check the spare? Maybe a bad sensor.

Get new tires.

Your dry-rotted tires are probably so fricking old that the batteries in one of the sensors has died.

Well, went to get tires rotated a couple of months ago. Big 10 said it could not do it because back tires were rotted so bad. So I bought two Michelins for the rear. Front tires looked fine, still have tread, and Costco tire guy said they were not dry rotted.

Tire pressure light came on last night. Took it to shop this morning. Said tires were all 34-35 as they should be. So now trying to figure out why the light is on

Dead battery in sensor.

Do not buy cheap sensors from Amazon, they dont last very long.

How old is the vehicle??

Either ignore it or replace the sensors.

Get you a tire gauge.

Tire place should have them right? Batteries for sensors

I'm not a mechanic, but I would surmise that driving around on a tire with dry rot is probably a very bad idea.

Most if not all sensors do not have replaceable batteries. You have to buy new sensors w new built in batteries.

Shouldn’t the tech at the shop be able to tell you why the light is on? If not, find a new shop.

Some RVs have replaceable batteries on the TPMS.

Had the same issue w/ one of my cars. Kept losing air in one specific tire. Had tired replaced under warranty, but kept losing air. Came to find out they didn't change the TPMS sensor. On top of that, the valve was loose so it was slowly losing air and having me refill every few days.
