I don’t know what the context is that started this thread, but the whole multiverse fricked everything up for marvel.
It allows them to just make up whatever the frick they want.

So are you saying that Wakandmans were holding him captive when he built the suit, or Tony is a long lost Wakandan?

I'd say that if you really examine things, Marvel ended up making Wakanda look bad.
Seriously, deep dive here: you have apparently by FAR the most advanced civilization on Earth. Capable of energy weapons, energy-dampening tech that minimizes opposing weapons, shield generators, advanced aircraft that may be spaceworthy, etc.
Great.
Now, add in the fact that Marvel has displayed multiple alien civilizations that would be a threat to Earth. Thanos did attack Earth twice (and Wakanda directly), then attacked again from an alternate timeline. You have the Cree, you have others, including Ravagers abducting humans.
You had Asgardians meddling multiple times, at which the entire planet was at risk.
So does this super civilization defend it's home planet from these threats? Show some leadership? Nope, they hide behind their shields until they are found.
Isolation is fine, the US practiced that in reality a lot. But when the threat is existential, you have to step up. Marvel can't do that, because then it's Planet Wakanda, and they lose (95% of) their audience. But that's how the story has been written, so that's what they should be doing.

Hidden ethno states with super advanced technology are a good thing - for some.

It's almost like comics were just a bunch of fun stories written to entertain and trying to tie all of them together and make it fit a cohesive story leaves logical gaps.
Trying to fill in all those gaps is how you get the Multiverse. Id rather just have the logical gaps and not try to tie everything together perfectly.

All I'm saying is that a homogeneous society with stringent immigration policies can be a utopia.

Yes, he did. But his assistant was named Peppa, not Pepper.

The original Iron Man comic had Tony Stark being captured and building his first suit in Vietnam during the Vietnam War.
