Elijah Haven & Arch Similarities

Probably get DV'd to the max, but neither guy participated in many camps to my recollection. Maybe when you're at the top, you don't need to go prove yourself.
We'll see this year if Arch is the dude or not. CUM (Coach Urban Meyer), who we all love lol, recently said that either Arch isn't that amazing, or Sark is a fool for not playing him above the 7th round Q Ewers. I've posted the same sentiments and had some TXsteers very angry with me, which I enjoyed. Anyway

Arch is worse than a 7th rounder.

Well I doubt that, but we'll see this year how good or bad he really is.

I thought Spurrier made that comment

You're comparing a high school senior in Arch to a kid who was just a sophomore at the time. Arch had the Manning name backing him, while Haven has proven himself based on talent alone at his age. There's no need for the comparison different paths, different situations.

I think Spurrier also had some comments on Arch...

Recently, Meyer ruffled some feathers when talking about Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning.
Many across the nation view Manning as the next superstar quarterback. He is already being talked about as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Despite all of the hype, Meyer isn't sold yet. During a recent media appearance, Meyer spoke out with blunt honesty with his thoughts about Manning.
“Here’s the thing about Arch — I think he’s going to be a great player,” Meyer said. “I’m about to say something that I don’t want to offend anybody (or imply) that he’s not going to be a great player. But when I watched – and I did, I went back and watched a bunch of his tape – it’s not like he’s overwhelming yet. It’s not like he comes in the game and he just blows the doors off everybody else."
While his comments might not be popular, Meyer isn't wrong. Manning still has a lot of developing to do.
He ended up playing a lot more than many anticipated this season due to some injury issues that Quinn Ewers dealt with. Also, he played well in the time that he did receive on the field.
Throughout the entire 2024 college football season, Manning ended up completing 67.8 percent of his pass attempts for 939 yards, nine touchdowns, and two interceptions. He also picked up 108 yards and four more touchdowns on the ground.
Overall, when given time on the field, he has backed up the hype. However, there are obvious areas where he could improve. No one will truly know what he's capable of until next season when he is the full-time starter.
All of that being said, Meyer said what very few have had the nerve to say. Manning may be a Manning, but he's still a very young and unproven quarterback.

Yep, he did. He said "Basically since Arch is the leading Heisman candidate going into this year, it didn't make sense to him to be behind Ewers". I think he called out the Coach on that one.

Neither did I. Maybe someone should throw me a bag

Both of their first names start with vowels.

Based on what I saw on the field last year, Arch is considerably better than Ewers.

Urban Meyer thought Joe Burrow was a third stringer.
Disqualifies him from any serious discussion going forward imo.

Lol Arch played against Colorado State, UTSA, Louisiana-Monroe, and Mississippi State. What a stupid take.

Ewers was a 7th round draft pick. He did not have a good season.

And yet he was the one playing whenever they weren't playing cream puffs. Pump the breaks until Arch plays against someone other than literally the easiest games on their schedule.

Any news on how he fared at 159? Didn't seem to hear anything about that
Posted on 7/1/25 at 12:55 pm to mpwilging

Why must we do this. If you'd put Urban, we'd have known what you were talking about.
