I think it’s an understatement

I think a top three pick next year, on a rookie deal with 8 years plus of control. And getting Queen back instead of Anthony Davis, Christie, etc. Yes, as great as Luka is, I think this trade will go down in history as even worse than that.

Let’s see how Queen performs and see how everything plays out before calling it the dumbest trade of the decade.

2015: The Kings traded forwards Carl Landry and Jason Thompson and 2014 No. 8 overall draft pick Nik Stauskas to the 76ers for the rights to overseas players and a future second-round draft pick, sources said.

The Kings will send the Sixers a protected future first-round draft pick as part of the deal, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

2019: The Clippers traded Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Danilo Gallinari, three unprotected first-round picks in 2022, 2024, and 2026, two first-round picks from the Heat in 2021 and 2023, and two first-round pick swaps in 2023 and 2025 for Paul George.

2019: The Oklahoma City Thunder traded Russell Westbrook to the Rockets for Chris Paul, a 2024 protected first-round pick, a 2026 protected first-round pick, and two pick swaps (2021 and 2025).

2021: Orlando Magic traded Nikola Vucevic and Al-Farouq Aminu to the Chicago Bulls in exchange for Wendell Carter Jr., Otto Porter Jr., and two first-round draft picks (2021 and 2023). The 2021 pick was top-four protected, meaning if it landed in the top four, the Bulls would retain it and the Magic would receive the Bulls' 2022 and 2024 first-round picks. (The pick landed at 8 so the Bulls lost it, 2023 pick was unprotected and landed at 11)

2025: Lakers/Mavs Luka/AD trade

And on the opposite end, this trade is being shite on because of what that pick is believed to be next year when a single minute has yet to be played.

Not a good trade by any means but you would think this was the Clip Show dumping Baron Davis with a first that became Kyrie Irving.

That's how trades get evaluated. You dont get to just judge the initial trade itself.
