As was the case for the hitting stats, the bats, balls, and strength of schedule have an impact on these stats. The list is more to remember all the excellent pitchers on the championship teams than to compare one pitcher to another.
Evans had a remarkable freshman season.

My favorite LSU pitcher in the time between Ben McDonald and Paul Skenes.

I wasn't born till '91 but holy shite, the 90's team really were dominant

Sirotka was an absolute rubber arm beast. I believe that dude could throw 150 pitches come back in 3 days and do it again.

really hard to compare eras
the number of pitchers in college throwing 95+ is light years from what the pitching was in the 90's
the bats in the 90's were totally different to the bbcor era and safety NCAA legislated into the game
the weight training is light years from what it was 20 years ago
a lot of variables you have to consider

Well, except for that Skenes guy

Anderson has a little Sirotka to him. Kade obviously more talented.
My comp for Kade is Tom Glavine. I'm old.

When he pitched it was almost a certainty that he was going to throw a CG

People are going to want a bigger name for a Kade Anderson Comp but it’s Al Leiter. Stuff wise they are extremely similar

Laxton was a beast in the 93 NC game.

One thing about this list is that it misses guys that may have started the season slowly but finished strong. Trey Hodges in 2000 (CWS MVP) and Thatcher Hurd in 2023 are examples. Their ERA was inflated early in the season and finished higher than the pitchers on this list despite their great pitching in the postseason.

I said the same thing the other day. It's high praise but something about him and his delivery is very similar. I see the Al Leiter comp too.

This shows how elite Aaron Nola was
1.57 ERA is sophomore year
1.47 ERA his junior year
Dude is the LSU GOAT for pitchers and our team blew it in Omaha (we lost his game and pretty sure he gave up 0 earned runs )

True but a lot of this is the difference in the measuring system of today vs yesterday. The system used today measures about 4.5% faster than just 10 years ago.
It’s all built for TV and hype and it works.

Third best I’ve seen behind Skenes and Big Ben. Nola was incredible.

I think they changed the balls up again this year.
