Fears or Maluach? These are the two latest projections I’ve seen…

I want fears bad . Feel like he could be a star , but I’m leaning towards thinking he will be gone by 7

I’d be shocked if it isn’t Maluach. Seems pretty obvious.

I hope it’s Maluach if these are my two choices.

We are severely undersized, we need him.

Also, if Cedric Coward magically falls to 23, i would be ecstatic. Wishful thinking tho im afraid.

I think we pick whoever is left between Fears/ Tre Johnson with a slight chance we actually take Maluach.

Maluach seems like a guy that doesn't belong in the lottery but if we choose to force a need he's the pick.

How do we feel about a trade up ? Not sure what it would take.

We have essentially had one true PG for one year since CP3 left the team. And our record has reflected that. Fears is an excellent ball handler, excellent true basketball player. Take the best player please.

I think this is what happens. I have fears upside ranked above picking Johnson.

Doesn't belong in the lottery? I have not seen one media outlet project him outside of the lottery.

You know of any 6'3" 180lb stars in the NBA?
Steph Curry
a heavier and stronger Brunson
anyone else?

And you don't take centers in the top 10 unless they have an extremely great skillset offensively, which means they should be picked top 3. If they lack any real skill other than being tall and athletic, then they should never be picked in the top 10. They are a project and more than likely will end up as just a defensive 5 that likely can't stay on the court at the end games.
Queen has a skillset worthy of being selected in the top 10, not Maluach. And that doesn't mean Queen will be better, just that you're rarely ever goign to get the pick right when you pick a big that has no offense in the top 10.

I think the Jazz really like Kon and Fears. But I would be very surprised if they take Fears with either of Kon/ Bailey still on the board.

Even if the Jazz take fears then I still don't see anyone taking Tre Johnson > Kon/ Bailey before we pick.

Best case scenario would be that somehow both Fears/ Tre get picked before us which means we will get (1) of Kon/ Bailey. But I wouldn't hold your breathe.

Yes, Damian Lillard who I think he compares to the most. Fears is only 18 years old, and is actually a little taller than Lillard. Fears grew an inch and ten pounds in the last year and should just be going to college.

Maluach was terrible against an undersized Houston squad. Grabbed 0 rebounds against them too. I be scared to have him. He needs ton of development.

Excellent answer.

Lillard is also a freak of an athlete that competed in the dunk contest with a 40" vertical and 6'8" wingspan.

I'm not saying you can't be a star at those measurements, just simply that it's not very common at all. And I like Fears by the way and would be happy if we drafted him. There's a dog in him that I really like, and those are the types of things that can overcome size at times.
