The real question is does the 2025 team "Pitch off" against Skenes.

As good as Skenes was… Anderson doesn’t give up a lot of runs either. Clearly not comparing their stuff, but KA did just pitch a complete game shutout.

I truly believe the 2023 team sweeps. Honestly, this team was probably the worst of our championship teams. They overachieved though so I think it shows their heart and determination.

We beat a tougher team in ‘23 without Skenes. That says it all.

Tommy White vs Braswell bat at 3B?

25 aint hitting skenes. 23 would scratch a couple against Kade. Floyd vs Eyanson would be good in game 2. 25 had pretty solid plate discipline though, i think they'd lay off those high heaters. I'll give the game 2 nod to 25. Evans vs Hurd in the rubber. Evans is better but that 23 team just found a way. 23 takes it in a rubber

I am going to go with 23

the offense is just better than this years. More HR better slash line.

With all due respect to anderson, Skenes is Skenes. The Tennessee and Wake Forest teams
he pitches against in Omaha are better than any team Anderson saw this year.

game 2 is interesting. Late season Floyd and late season Eyanson are both great l. I like Eyanson better but I again, I like the bats on the 23 team.

2023 takes game 1 with Skenes. 2023 then probably takes 1 of the next 2.

I would give 2025 LSU a 40-50% chance of beating 2023 LSU in a best of 3 if they decided to pitch off. Skenes is a guaranteed loss outside of some fluke homeruns, after that its a coin flip.

Pearson was an everyday starter in ‘23 & Bear hardly played after we got into the thick of SEC play. Considering ‘23 had no LH starters I give them Pearson and Bear goes to ‘25

But to answer the question the ‘23 team is one of the greatest of all time. Skenes obviously shuts down anyone and also Ty Floyd with that “rising” fastball is the exact type of pitcher this team had the most issues against. There were several teams in that tournament that probably win this years CWS. The only teams in this one that would’ve been able to even compete in that tournament were LSU & Arkansas

It was most definitely our worst championship team. 2023 was probably our best

Not sure you can say “most definitely” for the simple fact 2025 had Anderson and Eyanson

I believe this was the best team LSU has ever fielded. Name another team that, when Omaha started, had 27 innings of excellent pitching. This team had:

Anderson - 7
Eyanson - 7
Evans - 5
Shores - 4
Cowan - 5

That’s what we had without using one pitcher we weren’t confident in. You could argue Cowan, because he had a rough patch that ended before the CWS, and we could not have known that.

The team had a 0.981 fielding percentage and were a fairly good offensive team.

The teams that came before the 2023 championship would be dominated by 2023 and 2025. There is just way more talent in college baseball now.

Like Jay Johnson said, 2023 is one of the best college baseball teams EVER. They would beat 2025 easily.

Put the 2023 team in the new ballpark against our Rosenblatt teams, and they would beat them too.
