Could Jay realistically overshadow Skip?

He won 5 in 18

Jay has one 2 in 4.

I know times are way different now but it’s wild to think about.

Skip built it so he can ever be eclipsed. Jay could win several more though. Maybe even more.

Overshadow is the wrong word.

Could he match him? Sure

Win more? Sure

Skip will never overshadowed

Nope.

Jay is an LSU baseball coach.

Skip is LSU baseball.

Saban never overshadowed Bear. I don't think it's possible.

Why look at it as over shadowing, instead of just carrying on the legacy. HOLD THE ROPE!

Yea let’s see how Jay turns around this year.

He was clearly the best baseball coach in America this year though.

Yes. People are prone to recency bias. Jay has a lot more to do for that conversation to actually take place, but right now, four years and two titles in, it is a possibility.

But Bertman built from ground up. I don't think it will ever be a fair comparison

If he gets 4 you can make the argument because it’s harder nowadays because the talent pool is much bigger and it’s harder with the tournament format. Not to mention NIL. Still a long road ahead to catch Skip. Keep in mind Skip made this program a powerhouse

Never, Skip built the program.

Bama fans still wear houndstooth.

LSU will always talk about holding the rope.

Great analogy. There was never a question that Bear built the Alabama football brand. Saban just returned it to the highest level and kept them there for an annoyingly long time!

Jay and Skip will both be venerated figures at LSU forever.
