The announcers made it sound like it was obvious but what are your thoughts?

No opinion. It was bullshite. Even the commentators said it was ball 4.

It was an awful call. There's no other opinion that's valid. I won't hear them.

Probably by the rule, but awful since it was a foot inside on a 3-2 pitch.

It was terrible. Rarelly called on that and given context easily wasn’t trying to get hit.
Luckily didn’t matter.

Worst replay call I've seen in baseball.
They had a batter HBP in the exact same way.

horrible call and the rule is written without common sense involved
how can you call a pitch in the batters box on ball four “intentional” from a batter who didn’t even extend his body out over the plate in any way? it makes no fricking sense. and to award the pitcher a strike? why?
the rule should only apply when a batter reaches a body part into the strike zone

At the very least should be a foul ball.

It’s an awful call within an awful rule. Gage Wood was bailed out but the same bullshite that Coastal was.
The rule is fricking awful and needs to go.

Hard to tell but I’m sure Dickinson knew the count. Would have been ball four, what’s his incentive to get hit?

You can’t drop your elbow into the ball. Yeah it was ball 4 but Dick knows better

It was a bullshite call. Burke was the only one who seemed to believe it could actually be called though.

I try to be fairly neutral with calls like that and it was clearly bullshite. So strange that these umps have all of the sudden starting calling clear HBPs as outs during the CWS

It was bullshite. It was a natural reaction by Dickinson when you are about be hit by the ball.

It was a complete BS call... They said that he brought up his elbow and the ball hit him... He brought up his elbow to protect himself... Not to let the ball hit him...

I thought he was watching the ball all the way until it hit him, and that he WAS trying to get hit. I don't think he walked up to the plate thinking that was a plan, but I think in the moment he thought he'd take advantage and give CC some of their own.
I also thought it took some dickhead balls to challenge the play considering how much CC gets away with it.
