Top MLB Prospects 2025:
Caden Bodine #38 (MLB.com)
Jacob Morrison #181 (MLB.com)
TL/DR:
*Strengths- starting rotation, back end of the bullpen, getting on base via BB/HBP, running game
*Weakness- offensive firepower/slugging
*Veteran team. 7/9 of the starting lineup are 3-5 year players
*Starting pitching isn't overpowering but all seem to have very good to elite control. Strikeout numbers don't pop off the page but the batting average against points to stuff being very good for their top 2 guys. I hope LSU has a more aggressive approach at the plate to attack early in hitter counts.
*Keys to Victory:
1. Limit free passes and getting the leadoff batter out which helps control the running game.
2. Move the offensive with productive outs/manufacturing runs especially with the wind blowing in.
Predictions:
Game 1: LSU 5-3
Game 2: LSU 7-4
MVP: Derek Curiel

Figured most people on here have a good idea of our team already. This was moreso to help people familiarize themselves with Coastal. Someone else can do an overview for LSU if they want. This took me 1-2 hours.

HBP. It’s what they do. I hope they get called for it.

Is Flukey a draft eligible sophomore?

What jumps out in the metric comparison between LSU and CC is that they attempt to steal a lot more than us, and they are hit by pitches a lot more...putting a lot of pressure on opponent's pitchers.

The last time LSU won a national championship, Jay used the HBP as a weapon all year.

Yes and they have a good % of success. The key is obviously to keep them off the base paths. I hope Hernandez has put in extra time practicing throwing out runners.

Agreed, but to me it has more to do with how good the pitcher holds runners and how quick he is to the plate. Hard to steal on a guy that is 1.2 to the plate.

Are they leaning in or something?

If you can appreciate the work, the TLDR is that they are very good

Right handed starters.
Anyone know what the home team rotation is for this series?

Yes. Good point. Anderson being a lefty will help and changing his timing throwing to the plate.

Saturday and Sunday, those 2. Monday (hopefully not needed), Johnny Wholestaff. We might even see Anderson and/or Eyanson closing it out Monday, if the game is close.
