I know it must have been really hard for him to do. But we would not be here if it had not seen the writing on the wall.

Thanks Paul and these championships are yours too. Some of these kids you recruited. Wherever you are in SC, here is one for you.

Paul did not want to retire. Which is why he is now the Head Coach at South Carolina. But it has paid off. This is actually why he was forced to step away.

yeah no, thats not at all how it went down.

then for him to hang around the program, denigrating CJJ the way he did

"you know, most of those were my players"

fuuuuck him. you love to see him failing miserably at USCe.

CPM was a great coach for us. But we were about .500 in SEC play over his last 3-4 years. It was time.

But make no mistake, he owned Arky/DVH while he was here.

But he didn't bitch about it and make it a big deal in public.

in an ESPN interview during i think home game vs. Florida he said just what I quoted... about it being "his team".

just came off as very sour grapey and while CJJ always said all the right things, you can tell he wasn't thrilled having CPM around the program.

Skip on the other hand, Jay talks to him every day. much different relationship there

Probably because that was part of his "severance" package. O didn't disparage LSU either after he was effectively fired mid-season.

LSU allowed Paul the courtesy to "go out on his own terms" and be celebrated for his time at LSU in exchange for Paul not fighting about being fired.

Skip is only around because he loves lsu, baseball , and for lsu baseball to be successful. If that means just being an ear or a voice around the program he’s good. Skip always comes off that way.

I feel like CPM’s departure was sped up because of Tony V having success at TN. It lit a fire to get the program back on top. CJJ was the perfect pick.

The phrase “Good is the enemy of Great” came to mind when thinking of these two coaches.

Good book also…

Give me DVH over Mainereri any day. DVH is coaching Arky and making them relevant. LSU will always be destination place in college baseball (prestige, fan base, etc.)

Wish he had loved football as much.
