Apparently Trump Has Fallen Under The Spell Of Gen. Mike "The Gorilla" Kurilla

I've spent the past couple days reading a lot about General Michael Kurilla from a variety of sources ranging from the left to the right to legacy to foreign. Here are the quick notes:
- Current commander of Central Command, appointed by Biden in 2022, set to retire soon.
- Former commander of 82nd Airborne, XVIII Airborne Corps, 75th Ranger Regiment
- He likes Trump.
- Trump likes him.
- Hegseth loves him.
- Loves Israel. The Israeli media raves about him.
- West Point grad, MBA from Regis University.
- Veteran of Panama, Gulf War, Kosovo, Afghanistan, Iraq
- Ranger.
- Highly decorated from battle in Mosul where he was shot three times.
- Under investigation for throwing an airman to the floor after the airman suggested he take his seat during a tantrum on a flight.
- Has been urging an attack on Iran for some time now, reportedly for years, I saw articles where he urged so in the immediate aftermath of Oct 7.
- Reportedly sees China and Iran as top threats, not Russia.
- Has expressed frustration with NATO, taking steps to work around them or just ignore them when he was in Germany and DC because he views them as bureaucratic and a hindrance.
The following is from an article written back in April on Ynet News, Israel's largest news site:

He has Trump's ear. His influence has been steadily growing. Look for him to possibly join the Trump Administration after his retirement.

quote:
U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) Commander Gen. Michael Kurilla, seen as one of Israel’s staunchest allies in the American defense establishment, has reportedly become the leading voice within the U.S. military advocating for a joint strike with Israel on Iran’s nuclear facilities
quote:
Since Hamas’ October 7 attack, Kurilla has played a central role in reinforcing U.S.-Israel military coordination, including initiating the deployment of U.S. aircraft carriers to the region. Now, with only a few months left in his post, Kurilla is leading a faction in Washington pushing for coordinated military action against Iran — a stance opposed by others in the Trump administration who favor diplomatic engagement.
quote:
Kurilla and National Security Adviser Mike Waltz evaluated how the U.S. could assist, with the Pentagon deploying military assets to the region, including two aircraft carriers, Patriot and THAAD batteries and B-2 bombers — a move widely interpreted as preparation for a possible Israeli strike.
quote:
Kurilla’s relationship with Israel runs deep. His first visit to the country was as a young officer in his 20s, and he has since visited dozens of times — more than 15 visits in the past two years alone. His leadership at CENTCOM has emphasized a practical, tech-driven approach to regional defense coordination, avoiding formal alliances like NATO in favor of behind-the-scenes integration.
Israeli military officials dubbed this system “Kurilla’s umbrella,” noting that U.S. radar systems in the UAE and Qatar can now aid Israeli defense.
quote:
Kurilla is also known for his meticulous attention to detail. “He knows the type of every munition launched at Israel that night, and where each interceptor was positioned,” an Israeli official told Ynet last year. “Wake him in the middle of the night, and he’d ace a pop quiz better than some of our own officers.”
Despite his operational edge, Kurilla is widely praised in Jerusalem and Washington alike for his collaborative and non-patronizing leadership style, engaging directly with mid-level Israeli generals and seeking their input.
quote:
As Kurilla prepares to end his command, questions remain about whether his successor will maintain the same aggressive posture toward Iran — and whether the opportunity window for Israeli military action will close with his departure.

Is this spell going to last two, three or four months while we decide what to do in Iran?

Sounds about right. Other than their nuke, Russia is no kind of threat. Bringing them into the Western fold could be best for all.

I don’t understand why the notion is always Trump can’t think for himself and is being “manipulated” by someone into doing a certain thing.
He’s always been hard on Iran.
He’s also said since the day he decided to run that a threat to Israel is a threat to the US, also saying Iran can’t have a bomb.
He also killed Soleimani, which was a huge deal.
This is Trump foreign policy. You don’t remember he and Kim Jong Un going at it?
You don’t remember him bombing Syria?

Of course you did. Tell the idiots in the region to stop fricking around with their extreme PedoMo cult garbage, and their won't be a problem.

The problem with Brown is that he stupidly removed the full scale war stick from the negotiation (even if what he said is true).
Trump’s foreign policy advantage is that other world leaders think he is crazy and unpredictable. To maintain that you have to keep all options on the table. So, Brown, being an Iran dove, had to go (besides being a Biden appointee, etc.)
As for Kurilla, all of this being said and printed may very well be part of the negotiation. Iran has to fear full scale war and regime change for the U.S. to be successful in its negotiations. The best way to do that is say and print things indicating that’s where we’re headed, even if we’re not.

Why completely ignore last year?

• THAAD Deployment: In October 2024, the U.S. deployed the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system with 100 troops to Israel to counter ballistic missile threats from Iran and its proxies.

Correct. The only things Trump has changed the last 30 years...is his wives.
I am amazed that people have watched the orange bastard since 2015 and can't see it.
