That's bullshite. You don't need to have over 100 bases around the world while going trillions of dollars into fake debt and turning country after country into a shithole in order to be safe.

In reality, the US is the military arm of the global elite and we are the slaves who pay for it. Our reward is more inflation, a completely neglect of instruction and the needs at home. I get that the gov has screwed it up. I don't have a lot of hope for them doing better. But this guy is the worst.
I say we get rid of this psycho and his weapons, it will at least give us 10 years of relative calm.

It's pretty simple. Despite a seemingly congenital unwillingness to accept our self-image as such, America is (and is perceived, correctly, around the globe as) the most powerful empire of all time. Empire building and maintenance requires all the type of shite we are bitching about. And it's easy to say "stop being imperious", but I would guess many of the creature comforts of our lives are directly tied to empire status.

It wasn't that long ago that I'd be right there with you, but after the string of fiascos, most of them by backroom design, that we've witnessed the last 25 years, honestly - I am far more confident that we'll be discussing (bad) shite not even on our radar today as a result of this action than we'll be talking about the ten year reprieve.

Explain to us dummies what countries, stable or otherwise, were serious, country-threatening to Rome? Do you really want Hamas, Syria, ISSIS, the Taliban to have access to nuclear weapons? Israel intel has already provided proof that Iran's radical leaders have indicated they will supply those countries with nuclear weapons they are able to develop. It's the always - stated, with no proof, that it's the MIC / global elites who are pushing the U.S. into war.
