Is there a single metric that has been going in a positive trend the last 10 years?

Has anything significantly changed that gives any hope?

Only thing Baton Rouge has going for it, is it isn’t Jackson MS

Baton Rouge will never get better. I highly doubt it stays the same.. in 10 years BR will be a war zone.

I was in BR last week after 7 years absence. Nothing much has changed since last visit.

I will say "slightly better".

Broome not winning a third term.

But it's not much hope.

I’m sure the OT will be a beacon of optimism. God knows this place is well reasoned, stays calm, and never gets overly negative.

Getting worse by the day, can't imagine 10 years from now.

We’re about to get a functioning school district, and yall are blackpilling?

Get a grip.

One thing that may very likely change is my house that is squarely within the St George school district boundaries is gonna jump in value

LSU student enrollment is up and LSU secured several national championships in the last 10 years which both has some positive economic impact for BR. Outside of that, I can't think of anything else.

Worse. The tax payers are leaving and more tax takers are being born.

As long as there are Nissan Altimas, Sentras, Chargers, and trash hitting the nice neighborhoods, it will always suck

North and parts of central Baton Rouge I can see that happening but Hispanics are taking over a lot of south and central BR and they tend to be better when they take over neighborhoods. The schools will still be low performing and economic investments low but at least the crime and violence will be much better than if the hip-hop pill popping jigging crowd took over

As Aristotle said, Jxn is BR in 20 years

Apparently there is not a single majority white neighborhood in the entire city of Jxn

In 10 years you'll see people desperately unloading their houses. There will be a few white pockets b/c of LSU

In 20 yrs, BR = Jxn

I shudder to think what Jxn will be like

Slightly better.

Continued plant expansions.

LSU growing slowly.

Mayor that wants the best for the city.

All depends on demographic trends. There’s not one single neighborhood town or city that has ever gotten nicer as it gets blacker. Just how it is.
