While full details won't be released until later in the year, American Express has announced it will be making some major changes to the Platinum and Business Platinum cards.

Does this affect the Delta Skymiles Amex?

The drive towards "exclusive opportunities" like booking chefs and in demand concerts and the like is for IG retards. I never see myself using any of that. Disappointing, as the changes to the Reserve were starting to push me to upgrade my Amex to Plat.

No, just the American Express Platinum, not the co-branded Delta card.

We just recently canceled our gold cards as they move out of our rotation for a few years but now looking forward to what 2027 might bring.

As I mentioned in the article, I really hope that they move away from the coupon book and refocus on travel, even if that means raising the annual fee.

Jesus Christ I hope not...

Like others have said, need to go away from the unique experience bullshite and roll in upgraded travel perks.

Would expect to see an increased FHR credit and could see it going to a $300 resy credit

Idk if I would get enough mileage out of the FHR credit year over year but I guess it really depends on the amount

The resy credit would be nice. Those are the only two locks I can think of

Doubt they go for increased Delta or Marriott or Hilton status to protect their other cards

I always burn through the hotel credit but never use the Resy credit. Very rarely use the airline fee credit either as I typically have status or am booked in F.

For the airline fee, at least for United, you can use the $200 on the travel bank and it’ll trigger the credit.

Chase just had big changes so Amex has to increase the AF. I think it needs to be $1,250 or so to purge the riff raff. I was just in the Centurion lounge at Bush and it looked like a zoo crowd.

It'd be cool if they did a high annual fee and/or reduced annual fee if you spend X amount a year.

Chase hasn't announced the changes to the Sapphire Reserve yet, we just know that it is coming. AmEx is likely sandbagging to finalize the changes after it sees what chase does.

Capital One did announce changes to the Venture X though, severely limiting lounge access.

Anybody know if the changes apply to JPMorgan Reserve? Can't find any news and when I go to Card Benefits in my account it says "It looks like this isn't working right now. Please try again later." Makes me think they will. Card has almost identical benefits plus United Club access.

Sounds like AmEx might be launching an ultra premium Delta card sometime in the near future

Yep, it was announced this morning. When I posted initially it wasn't yet live. Working on the writeup now.

JP Morgan Reserve closely mirrors CSR. Congrats on holding that btw.
