Israeli leaders said the attack was necessary to head off what they claimed was an imminent threat that Iran would build nuclear bombs. Iran long has insisted its program is peaceful and U.S. intelligence agencies have assessed that Tehran was not actively pursuing the bomb.

We have seen absolutely 0 evidence that Iran was anywhere close to obtaining a nuclear weapon. We haven't even seen any evidence that they were trying to obtain a nuclear weapon.

This is all a fairy tale. Yes, Iran was a state sponsor of terror and are not the good guys. But making up things about them being on the brink of having nuclear weapons is just a false justification for regime change.

VIENNA (AP) — Iran said it has built and will activate a third nuclear enrichment facility, ratcheting up tensions with the U.N. on Thursday immediately after its atomic watchdog agency censured Iran for failing to comply with nonproliferation obligations meant to prevent it from developing a nuclear weapon

The fact that the CIA says they were not, is some solid evidence that they were.

Seems we have seen this play before.

This piece of paper declares "Peace, for our time, It bears his signature as well as mine."

Iran has never denied enriching Uranium. They only denied enriching Uranium for a nuclear weapon. Why would they enrich Uranium??

And most importantly, what has Iran ever done that makes you think they are trustworthy??
Which side has sworn to eradicate the other based on religious beliefs?
Which side has strapped bombs to women and teenagers to blow up innocent Jews at markets, in busses, and other public places??

Iran has supposedly been only weeks away from developing nuclear weapons for 30 years.

But most of these people will buy into this shite just like they did with Saddam's WMD.

I acknowledged they are a state sponsor of terrorism in the OP

But one thing they weren't close to having is a nuclear weapon

And the VERY NEXT PARAGRAPH OF YOUR LINK...

quote:

The attack came one day after the International Atomic Energy Agency’s Board of Governors censured Iran for the first time in 20 years for not working with its inspectors. Iran immediately announced it would establish a third enrichment site in the country and swap out some centrifuges for more-advanced ones.

Why are you being... at best dishonest... and at worst willfully and maliciously so?

We should stop this madness. Instead of constant threats of war and giving them reasons to hate Israel and the US...we should be giving them reasons to work with us. What if we had gone over there and helped them develop a nuclear energy program, opened up trade in exchange for them dropping support of Hezbollah. Wed have another ally, not a threat of WW3

That's false.

Unfortunately we cannot know definitively whether "being on the brink of having nuclear weapons" is "a false justification" or not

For energy

Why shouldn't they be allowed to do that?

Nothing. I'm not relying on their assessment. I'm relying on our assessment.

The Iranians. And the Syrians. And the Lebanese.

Maybe Israel should ask itself why it has so many enemies in the region. If everyone seems like an a-hole to you sometimes it's because your'e the a-hole.

You don’t understand the English language well enough to make the statements you did in OP

“Not actively pursuing” could mean a host of different things. Maybe they aren’t actually building it this week, but that could change next week.

They are proven to have failed their nonproliferation obligations, yet you claim there is no way they are going to pursue the bomb and this is a fraud. Your post is a fraud

Pretty sure the current regime allied with the Soviets when they overthrew the US-backed Shah. The Ayatollah and his followers wanted to remove the influence of Western culture from its society. I think they’ve been hostile to us from the get-go.
