Why does Popeyes ask you to pull up?

They ask me to pull up even when there are no cars behind me.
Then they bring the food out 30 seconds later
Never experienced this anywhere else
Is it because I’m white?

So they can call their friends they're going to follow you home and steal your chicken

I have been told you pull up. They gave people behind me food. They were black. There is little chance they ordered mild. I still feel that was racism

Reset the drive thru timer to make their numbers look better? The same reason fast food restaurants have done it forever

These are the questions in life that truly deserve answers...

Probably habit.
They do it I believe to spoof their service time KPIs that get reported to corporate.

They should be promoting pull out instead.

Culver's has everyone pull up by design. They cook everything fresh, so it takes a bit. They just have a row of parking spots on both sides of the lot that form a line. They put a number on your side mirror and bring your food out when it is ready. They've never messed my order up, either. Nor, have they thrown sauce packets at me.

I asked the same question at the window of another fast food place and they told me there is some type of monitoring system that tracks how long it takes for a car to go from ordering to pulling away and the corporate owner looks at the data to monitor productivity. So they game the system when the staff is slow by telling people to pull forward and the detection equipment spits out numbers that makes it look like the car went through fast.

I was at a DQ this week and ordered a blizzard. Get to the window, pay, then told to pull forward. About 15 minutes later, a guy comes out to my car and says sorry for the delay, here's your blizzard. Turns it upside down, as they do, and it falls out of the cup like someone taking a dump.

I’ve been told to up or pull into one of the reserves for a few different fast food restaurants. They either bring it a minute later or my food gets mixed up with about 6 other peoples orders who are also waiting in reserves.

Probably started off as a way to game performance standards and ticket times.
If you had an order that was going to take a minute. It would be to serve the people behind you.

The Popeyes AI algorithm predicted you wouldn’t pitch a fit if asked to pull forward

That blizzard sat for 13 mins

Other establishments, I could see this being the case, but for the average Popeyes crew this is giving them plenty of credit. Something tells me that they wouldn’t give a damn if the boss or corporate complained about a timer. Corporate is probably content if the employees show up, aren’t high, and don’t beat up customers.
