I read LSU had 41,000 total enrollment last fall. Has LSU ever been this large?

Is that just BR or all campuses in the LSU system? Also, is that undergrad or all students?

I think undergrad at BR is more like 32-33K

14,000 out of state. That’s significant financial bump.

Never got pinched in BR while I was there.

I remember in around '84 the enrollment was around 36K. Not sure if that was only undergrad.

Did get towed in NOLA for a Saints game. Not fun but wasn't;t overly expensive.

The 40000 is through all campuses in system
It’s not that many at Baton Rouge campus
Plus with online enrollment they rarely step foot on campus

No, that’s Baton Rouge. Includes things like the law center but that’s also on campus.

Results of test optional applications. Unfortunately, too many have no business being in college, drop out after 1-2 semesters with debt and no employable skill

Texas is the second most populous state in the US. UT i Austin has limited space. Aggies have two separate campuses in College Station and could have 100K on campus and still have space.

Texas has two metro areas each with millions more than the entire state of Louisiana. Our state university is just not going to be as big as Texas' state universities.
