Does it feel like we’re playing with house money?

It feels like we’re flying a bit under the radar as crazy as that sounds as we’re the premiere program in college baseball. All I’ve heard all week is that Arkansas is the betting favorite, everyone says they are the most talented team on paper, and the possibility/pressure of DVH winning his first title. Seems like we have very little pressure and Arky has a ton of it.

Probably from the media and country but not from LSU fans where I spend all my time so I can’t really feel it

Nah I think most LSU fans expect to win it and will be disappointed if they don’t.

No.

No program's fanbase has higher expectations than LSU's. Thats the "price" of success. Now, will the disappointment be slightly less should LSU not win the NC because they won it just two years ago? Probably. But in the world of CBB, LSU is not flying under the radar...even if they aren't being talked about as much. I suspect most, and the betting lines confirm such, think either LSU or Arkansas will win the NC.

The days of playing the "disrespect" card, or low expectations are LONG gone for LSU baseball.

It does to me. I don’t get the sense anyone is really giving us much of a chance or at least not talking about us too much

Between Arkansas and the SEC player of the year and the Cinderella story of Murray state it feels like we are just kinda there.

Good. I’m glad the media isn’t talking about us right now. We have everything it takes to win it, that’s all that matters. Just got to execute. This team has done it all year.

I don’t think LSU is being disrespected by anyone, but under normal circumstances, LSU is the headliner and gets the majority of media attention. It feels like we have been playing second fiddle this week nationally with much of the attention on Arkansas and DVH possibly winning. Locally, yes LSU will get all of the attention. I just found it interesting and wonder if it has any impact on the game or the way these two teams play tomorrow night.

We are the media darlings of the Rocco's challenge. We got that going for us.

Playing with house money would mean that the ultimate goal for the year was to make it to Omaha. I'd bet big money JJ was not telling that to the guys prior to the season. The goal is to win it all.

Trying to be unbiased, I think Arkansas will win this game, but our guys are good enough to win the whole thing so I definitely wouldn’t bet either way on this game.

JJ plays 4D chess. You can hear it in the way he describes how he’s used pitching the last few weeks and how it closely resembles the way he handled pitching in 2023.

No doubt he’s already laid out on the schedule who will/could pitch on what days all the way through the championship round and has the team bought in on making it happen. Pitching is key, and they have been the most exciting turnaround group this part of the season.

Going to be a fun week or so for LSU fans I suspect.

I don't think LSU baseball has flown under the radar since the 80's...

Yes. That's how it feels to me. We just won 2 years ago so no long drought to end. We don't have an all-time type team like 23 where anything short of a title is a disappointment. We aren't playing an inferior team where a loss is a disappointment by default. We're playing an equal team with little pressure. Win or lose we're going to keep competing for the title this year and every year. It's a great spot to be as a program.

Tigers have a 1a and 1b pitching setup this year. Who knows what that will look like next year? If the rest of the team can’t complement that and take full advantage of that luxury from here on out it will be a huge disappointment.

I don’t think we are getting a lot of attention, but I don’t think that’s a sign of disrespect. It’s more about there are so many different story lines at this year’s CWS. Murray State being a 4 seed, Coastal’s winning streak, DVH having his chance to win his first one after many chances, no teams returning from last year, 3 former PAC 12 teams… We are just one story of many stories. I’m fine with not having the spot light focused on us and I think it’s good for the game to have so many diverse stories.
