How are people getting away with all of the illegal sports streaming on YouTube?

Not that I am complaining, but I’m amazed that YouTube isn’t able to take that down immediately.
I don’t have Peacock. Not that I couldn’t afford it, but I just have so many subscriptions already that it aggravates me. So I’m watching the U.S. Open on YouTube. There are multiple streams available.
On any college football Saturday, you can go on YouTube and find 20 games.

They used to take them down very aggressively. It seems like as of late they haven't been bothering as much

Probably like the rest of society... they are just letting small stuff go now.

Leagues probably told them to hold off because it helps fan engagement numbers . They like bragging about viewership

I get it. If you’re paying, you want something that people who aren’t paying cant get
Kind of like good seats. You’re not paying for the view, you’re paying to be around other people who can afford that view

I had the Playboy and Spice channel for free thanks to a illegal chip. Will I go to jail? Too bad of one person pays and the others don't.

They're chasing the teen and young adult crowd who watch the illegal stream then post about it on social media.
ETA: My 18 yr old son has become a big UFC fan over the past two years. Him and his friends have only watched illegal streams. If not for having those available, he wouldn't give a shite about UFC.

There seems to be an "out" if you watch streams. The person creating the stream is in trouble, but just watching a stream is kind of murky. You are not the one doing the pirating; you are just watching. If you store it on your device, you can get in trouble, and if you share it by streaming yourself or giving it to someone, you can get in trouble.
There is little chance of you getting in trouble watching a stream of a live event or something on OTA television or even watching a stream of reruns of Seinfeld on TBS. If I want to watch the Saints and I live in Boston watching a live stream of a New Orleans OTA station on my device will rarely get you in trouble. But, you are more likely to get in trouble if you watch a stream of NFL Sunday Ticket.

Wut? When I buy a nice ticket, it’s to have the best seat to watch THE JUDGE crank dongs. I could be sitting next to anyone and I wouldn’t notice.

There is no “out” for people that watch an illegal stream. You are still breaking copyright law. Nobody is going to go after individuals, but don’t think that just watching is on the up and up

If the broadcast companies cared enough they could get them taken down pretty easily
See the butthurt of Kendall Rogers and D1 baseball. Bally sports was also quick to pull the plug on streams
