If Iran attacks US military bases/personnel and kills our people, is that enough to join?

Where do you draw the line? I am anti-war and would like for us to stay out of this but if our people/bases are attacked as it results in deaths of American soldiers, I think the conversation has to be had between Trump and the Pentagon.

You respond appropriately to where they know it's a very bad idea for them to do that and then you step out which is what we should have done in places like Afghanistan and Iraq.

Take care of business, get the bad guys and leave immediately. Let them figure out wtf happened.

The US did not strike Iran and Trump has made it very clear that we have no intention of getting involved ourselves

If they attack us, we need to wipe them out. Peace through strength requires that there is punishment, otherwise we have no deterrence. How are we supposed to negotiate with foreign countries if they know we wont follow through?

It also begs the question of why we are playing world police. Maybe we shouldn't be doing that.

Trump is very anti-war but he's shown he will smoke a bitch when he feels it's warranted. If Iran were to strike a US base, he would likely wipe out their air-defenses and their main control centers but then call it a day (and let Israel do any heavy lifting beyond that).

Agreed, we should pull out of the ME. Until we do though, we need to protect our servicemen who are there.

We're doing that less and less by the day which is a big improvement.

Join, negative.

Bomb them back to the Stone Age, absolutely. End it before it even starts.

you don't think its already been had?

Guarantee you if they attack one of our bases a response will be given. This aint potato Joe or Barry the muslim you're dealing with. Its a decisive POTUS who has no intention of suffering hostile aggression. The only question is how long would the response take? I doubt very long given our assets (supposedly) in the region.

we will hit back harder, but to scale.

If it accidentally helps Israel, which it will, so be it.

It's Iran's choice to target our servicemembers and have to DWI.... or they can choose to leave us alone.

This is where having indoctrinated proxies goes wrong because they go off the reservation and bring the pain down on you. Looking at you Democrats.

great plan. Hard to execute. But if you're suggesting we don't try to nation build or leave troops there in an effort to influence, I agree. We either go in as conquerors, conquer them and leave or don't go in at all.

But we should always answer force with greater and more lethal force. To quote Saban, "make their arse quit".

No. It'd mean it is time to just completely leave the area.

No. But they’ll eat some tomahawks and other ordnance from subs and other assets lurking around the gulf though
