One of the rarest achievements in basketball. CP3 has been pretty close twice this year. Do you think Chris Paul will become only the 5th NBA player to get to this mark?

Personally I think he will, after seeing the performance last night, and every other game for that matter I think its tough to say that he wont join this group and break many other records along the way!

Not likely... but he'll come within 1-2 steals of doing it.

His career high is nine steals. It's gonna be tough to put a complete game like that together, but if anyone in the league could do it it's him.

only time it's ever happened:

Alvin Robertson, February 18, 1986, San Antonio vs. Phoenix; 20 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists, 10 steals

Howard from the Magic has a good shot cause its eaisier to block 10 shots in a game than get 10 steals. However he would have to have a special night passing!!

Very tough, but he certainly has a better shot than most. I suspect he will have a a couple of 10-steal games in his career, but can he also grab 10 boards in one of those games as a PG? In any case, what an incredible player.

getting 7 steals is not getting close.
a 3 steal game is a tremendous game.
most people do not get 3 steals in a game.

so being 3 steals away is not close at all.

Hakeem has had a QUAD Double!! Points Rebounds assist and Blocks!!! I think he has done it twice.

Okay let me put it this way.

If player a averages 20 pts per game. would you say that player a was close to scoring 60 pts when he scored 40 pts?

that is the equivalent to paul who averages nearly 3 steals per game having 7 steals.. He was entire games worth of steals away from double digit steals.

Roy had 20 something points, 10 steals, 7 assists, and 5 boards a couple days ago....that's fairly close considering he did the most dificult part of it.

About a month ago, I would have said no way.

Now that he has had 2 triple double with 7 steals in the last couple of weeks, and factoring in how young he is, I think there's a pretty good chance it will happen.

Maybe, 30-40% chance. Give me 2-1 odds, and I'll take that bet that he'll get the quadruple once in his career.

Which is harder, a quadruple double, or 5 different goals(even strength, power play, shorthanded, empty net, and shootout/penalty shot) in an NHL game?

Knowing nothing about the NHL I would have to say that the scenario you mentioned was the hardest cause it requires special circumstances......Has that scenario ever happened?

Once, Mario Lemieux did it once. That's it.

It's MUCH easier to do now than it was when he did it, because a game can easily go to a shootout and be settled with penalty shots.

You rarely see a penalty shot during regulation so that in it of itself was rare. But all of these usually happen during game play, (short handed, even strength, power play).

The hardest would be getting a empty netter then having the game go into overtime. That's near impossible.
